If this has been posted elsewhere I have been unable to find it. Has there been an official word? I would love to wait until August 1st for financial reasons so I can shell out more cash towards MWO. Otherwise I'll have to break early and settle for veteran.

Any information would be great.

Very good question, but no, this hasn't been answered yet.

I would imagine that Aug. 7th would be the last day. But Russ has said that if all goes well he will try and get all teh founders in this week. So it may be closed sooner.

Yeah, I heard of this. For selfish reasons I was hoping this wasn't going to happen hehe. I want to give them my money, so i'm hoping a dev will tell me whats up.

This is from the founder Q/A on the 19th of June.

Q, When will we shut down the founders program and the ability to buy them?
A. There are some variables at play that are too difficult to explain, suffice it to say we dont know for sure but I can say that Aug 7th is very likely the longest it will run. But it is limited so don't wait too long if you can afford to. For those waiting on paychecks etc I would say we have in all liklelyhood at least 4 weeks at the minimum,
Q. how long can we upgrade them
A. I can say we would allow up until Aug 7th to upgrade
Q. Can we change our mech choice before the Aug 7th cut off
A. This currently isn't offered but we will look into it...no promises yet but we will try.

Thanks for the Q/A info.

So a safe bet is to purchase whats affordable and then upgrade when cash flows in?

I would recommend buying the the Veteran Pack at a minimum since you can upgrade it for no additional cost anyway, and from the sounds of things, they aren't sure when you can no longer buy founders packs, but they will let you upgrade it until Aug 7 if you already have one. Worst case senario, you get some SOME of what you want, even if you're too late.

I'm sure the day before MWO goes fully on-line will be the last day for "discounted" founders-rate packages. I'm betting the price will go up for the following three months (or you'll lose the $80 in-game currency), and then disappear altogether.

That would probably be a safe bet. If you can sneak $30 for the veteran founder pack now, you'd still have a couple weeks to upgrade to what you want.

Heck, I'm still pondering if I want to upgrade.

They will stop selling Founders packs when it stops selling like hot cakes.

I am handing over $120 and much more later after veterans affairs gives me my monthly disability donation pain and suffering payment. Guess I should have waited a little on the Alienware... nah, screw that. I will give you my cash when the money hits the bank tomorrow. And let the good times begin!
