UM-68 (R68 now, I guess)

You know, I don't actually know why the UM-68 and UM-69 were named that way. Every mech before and after them had the R.

Any lorist here know the story?

Someone probably just forgot. If you look, you can find assorted little inconsistencies like this.

(Especially armor values. A lot of 'mechs have oddities in armoring through their various iterations.)

FASA (or whomever owned the IP at the given time it was invented) typical bad editing.

Alright! Just checked and I already meet 3 of the 7 rewards including the Urbanmech and Kitfox.

Haven't bought a top tier package in a while, but that Victor sure is tempting me.

Yup. It's The Year Of The Urbie Mk.II, apparently. A fan inspired hero AND a missile variant. A shame it's locked behind MC, though.

Can Urbie IIC be far behind???? Posted Image

One can only guess.

I'm kind of torn on the Urbanmech IIC. On one hand, I love Urbanmechs, and the more the merrier.

On the other, I'm morally opposed to just crapping out boring IIC versions of Inner Sphere mechs when there are more interesting Clan specific ones to do.

A conundrum.

It's an Urbie all the same. Besides, Clans right now don't have the fun IS weapons like RACs.

I hate Urbie IIC tbh, because it makes pretty much no sense. But some folks want it.

And they still wouldn't have stuff like RACs, so why would that matter?

Not till the next era.

But not having the interesting IS tech right now, like the RACs are arguably a reason to play IS urbies over clan urbies. Not a good reason, but a reason.

I'm a Clan pilot. Yet, I want to pilot an Urbanmech.

So yes, IIC please. Besides, it'll have a HAG-20 version, which basically is a Gauss shotgun (they have a tight choke to short range, spread a bit more at medium, and a wider spread still at long range). This would be Fun.

You can have your 'Gauss Shotgun' when I have my 'LB-15X.'

I've got zero problems with them adding in the Silver Bullet Gauss. Especially with the bulk issues surrounding the IS LB-20X.

When do I get my Inner Sphere Nova?

So much one-way street in this game, when do IS get some of the Clan 'Mechs that got ported over? I'd love to get a 12x MedLas 60 tonner, even with that XL...

Rakshasa can stay dead though. MAD does everything it could do, better.

You aren't vat-born, though, you're just a former Rassalhague who's now a Clan bondsman...
