Poor Communication or better yet lack of any communication will always lead to being shocked and upset. There is always a year long media blackout on what qualifies are rewards. No wonder people are pissed they spent a lot of money and don't qualify.
However, nothing changed form last year, so anyone around for those rewards can't really be shocked that nothing changed. This is PGI, after all. I believe "minimally viable" is the forum mantra.

I'm not upset i'm not receiving them. I was burned last year and spent accordingly this year. With your example, 30 skodas will bring in more money than 1 porsche. I'm sure Skoda's parent company apreciates those sales just as much as porsche appreciates theirs. Revenue is Revenue in the end. Doesn't matter if its Apple or Exxon.
That was my point, more money spent in total on more, cheaper products, vs a lot of money on a single, higher mark-up item, are not treated the same. If they can encourage more people who bought a Skoda to upgrade to a Porsche? More money for them. I can only imagine they ran the numbers and figured they made more money this way than the suggested alternatives, or they would have changed the rewards model. As it is, they simply removed the word "Loyalty", at least from the title.

Ok, so if it isn't an appreciation reward , you just said its a reward for spending money so in what universe is it cool to reward someone more that spent $80 vs someone that spent $250. The parameters do not compute.
Once again, it's not really a reward, it's "upgrade a few packs to qualify for this *free* stuff!". It's a marketing ploy.

It's not a reward. It's a reason to spend money in a certain way.
Specifically, to spend money on things with little incentive to buy in the first place.
This.
When people ask "Why would anyone buy a Collector's pack?!" a good response would be "
Loyalty Annual Reward 'mechs!"
