The selection of Mechs in the list is too arbitrary for my taste. Why Wasp and not Stinger e.g.? Also some of my personal favourites are missing, like Razorback and Brigand.

That's just the OP's top 10, the Stinger, Razorback and Brigand are present in their respective tonnage categories.

Not sure why they didn't just split the poll by tonnage, but they did.

It's still an arbitrary (pre-)selection, and I don't see the benefit of it (whereas I do see how such a pre-selection can influence poll results).

I'd like to see the Anubis, as it's quite possibly the cutest 'mech not currently in game, and if you don't prioritize your 'mechs by how cute they are, then you're absolutely doing it wrong.

Piranha and Locust IIC would give the Clanners a pair of battlemechs in the 20 and 25 ton brackets, which they're lacking (especially if MGs get nerfed and the Mist Lynx goes back to irrelevancy.)

Raptor would be a good choice for an IS Omni that isn't terrible. Also while it's not as cute as the Anubis, it is a charming little box on legs, so it's got that going for it too.

Hornet, Urbanmech IIC, Pirahna and Mongoose/Nexus/Brigand are about the only ones that will add anything to the game.

Raptor looks like a lot of fun, but omnipods galore will not change the fact you can't cram a lot of IS weapons on a 25 ton chassis.

I like the way you think! Also a Firebee would be a nice throwback.

I didn't pick them up, because neither was in any of the TRO's up until 3067. Both have been added to the poll options. Have your vote.

Because this kitfox likes both IS and Clan tech, but the overlords say no to mixtech T.T

Where does it say that the Arctic Fox is mix-tech? I haven't found any information regarding that :\

Please have a look at the poll where I've included every light in our current timeframe (to the best of my knowledge) and gave an explanation as to why I picked them. Feel free to vote for something completely different.

I respect that. On the other hand I have a) included every light (again to the best of my knowledge) so everyone can have their say. Contrary to every other mech poll I have ever seen. c) (because b turns out to be a smiley with shades) I've put quite a bit of effort into providing you guys with detailed information about many light mechs, that I just took the liberty to create my personal top 10. See it as my payment for the effort it was.

Very good mech indeed. Nexus and Raptor are both jump capable mechs as well. IS really needs a jumpy 25 tonner (and 20 tonner for that matter).

Initial vote placed.

My votes are for the Vixen and the Anubis only. Basically they're the only lights that I have any interest in so far.

However, that said, I'm not opposed to anything else, like the Piranha. I wouldn't mind seeing the Clans get a 20 ton mech, it just doesn't interest me as much as my votes.

On a more serious note:
A Clan 20tonner would be nice. Preferably Firemoth. The speed can be technically hard-capped, I don't have a problem with that.

I voted, but as nice as it would be to get new Lights, the following problems have to be sorted out before any new ones can be feasibly introduced:

-The rewards system being blatantly biased towards heavier weightclasses via over-rewarding combat and severely underpaying everything else.

-The current scaling system being absolutely brutal towards skinny humanoid mechs(to the point where it is easy to mistake the 35 ton Wolfhound for a 45-50 tonner), and unfortunately thats what a good 60-75% of Lights are.

-The agility system royally screwing over 35 tonners(seriously, its embarrassing that the Linebacker, a 65 ton Heavy, is more agile than most of the 35 tonners).

-The outright crappy state of Light weight weapons.

-And finally, making sure Paul gets his grubby little hands off the balancing department.

A note on the Piranha:

It's not the MG variant you should be worried about. It's the laser-spam variant.
