So, with some free time and the upcoming event I thought about buying some premium time.
For $12 you get 30 days. Ok. Not here to argue about the price, but:

For $13 you get the Locust bundle, wich includes 30 days of PT, 3 Mechs - one of them a Hero, one a Champion - and 3 Mech Bays. (Commandos for $15, otherwise the same.)

Some questions:

Shouldn't that be better communicated? I think the shop is not very easy to navigate and especially new players would profit from 3 Mechs + PT at the start.

Can I buy as many Locust bundles as I want and just sell the Mechs?

Should I buy the Locusts or the Commandos?

Seems wrong to communicate that an option you offer is a ripoff. Would be better to fix the ripoff, no?

There's also the C-Bill bundles, which are still obscene compared to buying/selling Champion Cicadas during champion sales.

If it's a ripoff, it's a really stupid one I have to say. Cheap(ish) starter packs should be prominently placed on the shop's frontpage, a new player in MWO has enough to learn already.

And yes, they should lower the price for PT, but that's just MO, of course.

(Maybe I'll get the Archer pack, it's on sale for $16, not a good light pilot anyway.)

PGI has a fun to observe habit of putting itself between a rock and a hard place. If they reveal the nuances of their pricing scheme, or hide their Premium Time Bundles behind mech bundles, or reduce the Premium Time price to match, they lose money in varying quantities. If they remove/reduce the premium time from mech bundles, or increase the price of mech bundles, there will be a huge backlash that threatens their income.

Best thing to do is... nothing.
