Well, thanks to the highly-appreciated 50% Off Mech Sale, I got dragged into the Event. Sadly, due to Real Life Issues that I won't go into the details of, I could not have entered this Event before now. I'm probably going to barely get the WarHorns, some Hanging Items, and that will be the End of the Event. Sure, I appreciate any Event Rewards that I can get, but I still try to give useful feedback that would help Current and Future Events. One thing I can definitely say is, due to the problems that some are having with the New Special Event Dialog, this Event needed to be run for at least 2 or 3 days longer than it currently is. Also, larger
(
C-Bills) and some small
(
MC) Rewards would have caused people to be more interested and willing to put up with all the madness.
However, this Event is still frustrating as hell. Can't get enough friendly LRM Cover
** to save my Ballistic-loaded, Missile-lacking Mech. Other Friendly Mechs also can't move over to save/help me fast enough, and I've been trying to stay with the Team even if they're doing that awful Nascar Tactic. Worse, I keep finding Light Mechs up my rear, stabbing me to death from behind. Am I just cursed to never enjoy Ballistic Builds?
Unfortunately, for anyone at PGI wondering about my Event Review Rating, only correcting 1 (
Providing a Clan Mech Sale, again, still highly-appreciated...) of the 13 failure items is not enough to really increase my rating. If I use decimal points, instead of sticking to integers, I could probably give it...
0.6/10
...because something's better than nothing, right? Those damage totals are still lop-sided, however. The range allowed and lacking heat on some weapons should cause them to need more damage done, as it's insanely hard to get in close and do damage with the larger weaponry which lacks range and has high heat.
Anyway, with my mind's thoughts exhausted for now, I'm going to get back to the battlefield.

Still having this sour taste in my mouth about this Event..." Devnull

Yes, really! They lack enough Range to force the Snipers to think of using Terrain Cover. LRMs really need 50 meters of BaseLine Range added back in, as they've been rendered bad to use otherwise. In case you need the point made, there are currently more than 40 ways to Counter LRMs, which is beyond far too many. If you want the bloody list, just quote my post here on the thread and ask. I'll be glad to make anybody choke on a long wall of text!)
