It's a problem that gets worse the further you go, actually. Arrow IV's are the first casualty, but it'll pretty much bust everything with an improved Hgauss later, and it's already screwed up the Catapult, King Crab, and soon the Nightstar. Artillery cannons also become impossible.

And ammo switching will be worse. It already messed with ATMs, it pretty much hoses MMLs, and removes a huge chunk of why many ballistics and missile launchers can add so many options to the game.

it may be abit tedious to see if such would be possible to impliment in MWO,
but i would like to have PGI work to see if it is possible in the future,
even if we may have to wait till their is free'd up development time,

No, this will make the game even more unbalanced.

Ain't never gonna happen. Their solution in closed beta was to remove lower arm actuators from mechs to just make the AC20 work, since they couldn't figure out splitting then. Today with the lackluster development and mess of a game? And loss of their old programmers that even got this thing running? Nope, crit splitting is never gonna happen.

Maybe in MW5, but I doubt that much forethought has been put in.

Would you like to buy a mech pack?

Actually crit splitting could very easily be added without fancy coding. The AC-20 would need to be split into ten versions of equal weight. You could choose a whole or split version and the remainder would be auto slotted in the adjacent section. The live version would be bound to the torso and the recepical part would be treated as a slaved partner. Destruction of the slave would be similar to loss of a limb mounted targeting computer. Except that instead of losing the targeting computers weapon buff, you would set cooldown to infinite or ammo to zero or something to achieve the same effect.

A whole ten slotted AC-20 would have no dependency. The solution is extremely easy to do, the only thing you would need to tweak is how you want to split up the component health between the two sections.
