I really want to love this mech but even after the latest tweaks I believe it still sucks...
Tell me what you think.

Still mediocre. Hate its low cockpit.

It's an IS medium with pretty terrible hitboxes, large torso, low-cockpit and very lacking quirks.

It's pretty telling when the shadow hawks have more useful quirks along with much better general features.

And shadow hawks still suck compared to hunchback IICs and stormcrows for the most part.

A few structure quirks was not going to make it do any better, it can now take a couple of extra ML hits once the armour gone.

It needs armour quirks period

Unfortunately its hard to overcome such large hitboxes. They should consider giving them more weapon quirks. So they can at least be glass cannons or something. How about a speed tweak quirk? So it can be greased lightning. :3

The thing is also too tall imo. I would prefer it loping low like a predator. Instead it is awkwardly tall...

Make it shorter
Shrink the STs (or the whole torso section)
Inflate arms and/or legs to keep volume the same

Fixed, without quirks.

Needs more survivability. Needs more agility. Needs quirks that cater to the hardpoints it has in abundance, not the ones it has barely any of. Oh boy, a 15% cooldown bonus to missiles! That's going to be amazing with the single non-Artemis SRM6 that's slot-limited because it's in my CT. At the very least if you're going to give benefits to something that the mech sucks at doing, you should give it a massively good quirk to make it actually stand out.

I can understand why they want to be careful with balancing mechs so as to not throw things askew or catch flak for later nerfs, but there are some instances where the problems are absolutely evident. If you throw Trebuchet-level quirks on this thing, then you might be able to bring the mech into actual use.

It doesn't have good hardpoints, shape, and cockpit location. No quirks can fix the vindicator.

It really depends on what you want to do with the mech. I am a huge fan of the Uziel, and while I agree with many other MechWarriors that it does need armor quirks badly, it is not as much of a piece a junk as many would like to believe. When it come to brawling, PGI has neutered the Uziel's capability to go toe to toe by making it paper thin, however if you remove the XL engine and replace it with a light engine, as well as take on a support role, your chance of survival is increased significantly. I run a 3S with 2 ER medium lasers, 1 MRM 10 w/2 tons of ammo, and a UAC 10 w/3 tons of ammo with a light 270 engine. If you stay close to the heavy and assault lances you're most likely not going to be the main focus which then gives you free reign with the UAC 10. And one the most important things that you should keep in mind is; play aggressively, but don't over commit.
Hope this helped.

What is your loadout on the 2s and 3p? What's your average dmg?

Have not seen a spectacular showing from an Uziel yet. Seen Awesomes do well and almost everything else, but not the Uziel yet.

Could be the pilots I don't know.

And guess which one of those options takes minutes/hours and which takes days/weeks to develop?

There's where you'll find out why they like quirks.

It's ok, but man you gotta really work for it.

So far i've pulled off 600+ damage in:
guass, 4 er-Med
MRM40, 4 erMed

But as everyone has mentioned, its rather squishy. You have to play "scared", and basically engage with a bigger juicier target close to you to avoid focus.

That agility buff is really nice though. It now moves like the Old HBK-4SP(R.I.P), but sure as hell can't brawl.

Its a pokey poke mech. I like playing it now, more than before.

If it got thicker (front to back) to reduce some of its width/height, then it would probably do fantastic.

Better than it was, not as good as it should be. Playable again, which it was not after the hitbox changes shortly after release. But tier 4-5, maybe, if metamechs was still ranking mechs.

I have been running a 4 MPL variant. I have found that you need to make full use of the mechs mobility, always keep moving. Run 5 or more jump jets and get some jump jet skills to give you longer burn and forward propulsion.

Been running mine with dual RAC 5s. Speed is about 90kph with jump Jets. I feel the Uziel really needs JJ's to spread the damage but if you know how to bunny hop it's better than the Bushwackers.

It never really got away from being DOA, even after its hitbox adjustments and quirks. Thing is, the quirks are very very minimal right now (its so minimal that it might as well not exist, they account to ~2 ERMLs extra ontop of what little total HP it had before, and with over 50% of mechs these days running at least 50 alfa strike, any less then 20 extra HP really doesnt make a noticeable difference.

I know PGI is really trying not to use quirks much these days, but there is no other way to both give mechs a bit of flavor (like 2 variants with almost the same hardpoints, make one specialize in a different weapon then other), and to compensate for things like lousy geometry (as much as i like the way the uziel looks cause its so unique, geometrically its the opposite of viable).
