Its the day the Loyalty mechs drop, this is also the Thantos major patch day. The date is still roughly 40 days away. Also to note, since I'm Australian, I don't get to touch any of these till the 15th that afternoon after work, since we are in front of every one else on this planet. We get the weekends first and if the world was to ever end it would probably happen here first too.

So I'm excited for the "15th" cough patch day cause I'm getting 8 new IS mechs to play with. In these next 40 days I'm grinding C-bills so I can upgrade and fit my new mechs with hopefully engines and new gear. So once I make my 50mill I will be looking for a new mech to try. I will be looking for a new IS mech to sink my teeth into.

I want you too recommend me a mech or a chassis that I dont own yet. I have a few already but Iike some people opinions on their favorite mechs or fun builds. Something to keep me distracted so I stop looking at the date and the time. Distract me with a new mech please. Advice and wisdom need. Im mainly an IS pilot but if you can convince me I will buy a clan or give me fits for ebonjags and stormcrow that i won in Supply Cashes but havent used yet. Cheers

I like IS medium mechs the most, I love being fast flexible on the battle field. Like tanky mechs, like bringing a knife to a gun fight. I do enjoy my lights and I have heavies cause I need them for my Drop decks. Assaults are my lest played and not very enjoyable for me even tho I love the Cyclopes Hero. In total I have about 60 Mechs and I'm always in the mood for something new.

CDA-3F - JJ fun, it's the IS Viper!
PXH-1B or PXH-2 - JJs & ECM, I like a PPC in the torso of the 1B
PXH-3S - A MASC Medium with a top speed of ~141kph!
CRB-27SL - JJs on your Crab
SHD-2K - Great PPC poptart or ranged (ER)LL sniper

Mad IIC. The regular and the Scorch. Mad IIC can run 2 er large and 5 er meds and 31 DHS. Scorch is a great brawler, srm6a x 4, 2 lbx10s n 2 small lasers or even 2 lbx 20.

If you like being "fast flexible", and "tanky" etc. and you are obviously not averse to Clan mechs, for the love of mechageezus get thee to a Linebacker, a Nova, or Hunch-IIC or even a Huntsman. Not terribly fast (well the Linebacker is for a heavy) but still wonderful to play and fits your description perfectly. You also do not appear adverse to $ mechs, and so I also suggest a Sparky (Love that mech, plays like the Quickdraw 5K used to and at 5 tons less), and though heavier but in a similar vein: a Jester.

I recommend a PXH-2 Phoenix Hawk if you're looking for something new in the medium bracket. Sure, all its weapons are in its arms and the chassis is almost universally reviled, but it's got ECM, 6 energy hardpoints and you never know - you might like it! If you don't fancy jump jets or ECM, the PXH-1K drops them both for two energy hardpoints in the CT. 8 energy mounts on a 45 ton mech isn't too shabby.

Other than the chassis size, another problem is that you'll need endo, DHS and a Light or XL engine to get the most out of a Phoenix Hawk, and that can be quite expensive.

For Clan, I'd recommend the Huntsman, Linebacker, Hellbringer, MAD-IIC and Arctic Cheetah.

For IS, you really should get some Warhammers (R and D).

For the love of all that's holy, get a Locust. It will improve your play on everything else!

It's cheap to get into.

It will give you a new definition for the term "unforgiving".

And it's fun as hell.

OP: Try the Shadowcat. Run it with two CerPPCs or two CLpls. 45 Tons of fun.

Get a Linebacker, fun and fast. Hellbringer for something different with ECM.
