is this possible to do??

that thing makes loading into the game take even longer. I don't care for any of the information it tells me and I just immediately close it.

Yes. It sucks when you get DCd from a match, but it's a kick to the balls when the incredibly long loading time is increased with some promotion.

I never even pay attention to the announcements, let alone whatever promotions are on offer. My cursor is hovering over the dismiss button before it's even clickable.

At the very least, the popup should be disabled if you've ever spent money on the game. I can almost understand it being there for free accounts, but when you've paid the price of a full retail game multiple times over it seems to be a fairly minor ask to not have ads thrown in your face every time you launch.

Its meant to announce events too.

Personally it doesn't really affect me because it has no discernable effect on loading time. For those with slower computers I could understand the want to get rid of it however.

There should be a vr sales area. Is this still the last millennium?

I just want anything to speed this game up. there is so much loading and waiting around it is amazing. Spend more time waiting for stuff to happen than actually playing the game.

this is just one of the many things they could something about in order speed up the process of playing.

^ THIS.

Log in - wait to get to get to mechlab/home screen.

Click Quick Play (using lowest % mech supposed to be quicker to get a match. Rarely have I noticed a difference...)

Search for match - wait, wait, wait

Find match - vote on map and mode - wait

Map and mode vote done - reveal results - wait wait

Then load map - wait wait

Then load teams - ALWAYS at least 1 'connecting' - wait wait wait

Launch game - 5 to 10 minutes of actual play (sometimes longer, all the way to the limit - rare)

end game screen

click disco - wait wait wait

back to mechlab/home screen - wait wait

repeat sequence

more wait less play

I don't complain about much on forums about the game, or changes, or weapons or mechs, but this (waiting just to play) really (pardon the pun) grinds on me.

There are times I just want to play but all the waiting just to play really wears on me...

All of that made even worse by the unresponsive mechlab. It really builds up annoyance.

While they're at it, can we get rid of the stupid "are you sure you want to leave?" screen that pops up after you have already left the game but the client is still up? WHY on earth would I want to leave the client up after I just logged out of the game? I get why PGI does the log in pop up (same logic as spam: 1 out of a 1000 who clicks on a new pack being advertised and buys one makes it worth it to them no matter how irritated the rest of the 999 are); but the "are you sure?" pop up AFTER I HAVE ALREADY LEFT! is beyond stupid.

It's also considered to be bad interface design:

https://msdn.microso...n742470(v=vs.85).aspx

Is there an alternative design that eliminates the need for the confirmation? The need for a confirmation sometimes indicates a design flaw. Often there is a better design alternative that doesn't need a confirmation.

Followed by:

Unnecessary confirmations are annoying

There is no reason to require a confirmation to leave the game, if you made a mistake you can relaunch it in very short order. Far more time is wasted by requiring every user to confirm exiting every time they use the program than is saved by stopping the one user on a million who didn't mean to exit the program.

I know it's a small thing but it's a stark reminder, every time I play the game, that PGI's coding is sub standard.

Are you sure you want to exit?

Are you really sure you want to exit?

Are you sure you don't want to continue playing?

Before you exit, did you check out our events tab?

Would you like to go to the mechlab instead of exit?

Would you like to buy MC before you leave?

Before you go, would you like to buy a mech pack?

Nope, pretty sure i want to EXIT the game. I'll just Alt F4 next time, it's faster.

Yeah.

It's even faster to exit MWO from inside a match than it is to exit from the main menu.

No idea what you're talking about. Never gotten a confirmation box before or after exiting the game.

Ditto

Not manually exiting, I'm already a bit fed up with the load circle as it is

i see the popup as being rather redundant, as its the same news that shows up in the portal when i go to launch the game. its redundant. its so redundant that its redundantly redundant. be less redundantly redundant. redundant.

they show it for everyone because thats how you maximize profits. people who bought something are more likely to buy again, people who didnt buy something are to be brainwashed into doing so. so spam spam spam instead of producing a product people want to buy. but because its easier to use cheese tactics than to make a good product they do that and since they made money they can avoid spending it on development and funnel it into the corporate beer fund.

+1 on removing that stupid announcements screen on game boot.
I run a i7 7700HQ and samsung 960 M.2, and yeah that popup screen takes a while to load.
