that thing makes loading into the game take even longer. I don't care for any of the information it tells me and I just immediately close it.

At the very least, the popup should be disabled if you've ever spent money on the game. I can almost understand it being there for free accounts, but when you've paid the price of a full retail game multiple times over it seems to be a fairly minor ask to not have ads thrown in your face every time you launch.

Personally it doesn't really affect me because it has no discernable effect on loading time. For those with slower computers I could understand the want to get rid of it however.

^ THIS.
Log in - wait to get to get to mechlab/home screen.
Click Quick Play (using lowest % mech supposed to be quicker to get a match. Rarely have I noticed a difference...)
Search for match - wait, wait, wait
Find match - vote on map and mode - wait
Map and mode vote done - reveal results - wait wait
Then load map - wait wait
Then load teams - ALWAYS at least 1 'connecting' - wait wait wait
Launch game - 5 to 10 minutes of actual play (sometimes longer, all the way to the limit - rare)
end game screen
click disco - wait wait wait
back to mechlab/home screen - wait wait
repeat sequence
more wait less play
I don't complain about much on forums about the game, or changes, or weapons or mechs, but this (waiting just to play) really (pardon the pun) grinds on me.
There are times I just want to play but all the waiting just to play really wears on me...

All of that made even worse by the unresponsive mechlab. It really builds up annoyance.

It's also considered to be bad interface design:

Is there an alternative design that eliminates the need for the confirmation? The need for a confirmation sometimes indicates a design flaw. Often there is a better design alternative that doesn't need a confirmation.

Unnecessary confirmations are annoying
There is no reason to require a confirmation to leave the game, if you made a mistake you can relaunch it in very short order. Far more time is wasted by requiring every user to confirm exiting every time they use the program than is saved by stopping the one user on a million who didn't mean to exit the program.
I know it's a small thing but it's a stark reminder, every time I play the game, that PGI's coding is sub standard.

Are you really sure you want to exit?
Are you sure you don't want to continue playing?
Before you exit, did you check out our events tab?
Would you like to go to the mechlab instead of exit?
Would you like to buy MC before you leave?
Before you go, would you like to buy a mech pack?
Nope, pretty sure i want to EXIT the game. I'll just Alt F4 next time, it's faster.

No joke, Alt F4 is how I exit this game.

they show it for everyone because thats how you maximize profits. people who bought something are more likely to buy again, people who didnt buy something are to be brainwashed into doing so. so spam spam spam instead of producing a product people want to buy. but because its easier to use cheese tactics than to make a good product they do that and since they made money they can avoid spending it on development and funnel it into the corporate beer fund.
