Jan 23rd - we will be replacing all potato products with salt. French fries will now be fried sticks of salt. Potato will, in fact, be salt wrapped in an artificial potato skin (composed of salt).
So vodka will be made out of salt now?

well FP clanners will get it because it'll allow them to optimise their drop decks better. Some will get it since they want it, others because it's their totem and others for the memes, i mean we have the urbie here for urbiesake!

PGI wont nerf machine guns till after it comes out for cbills. They dont want to kill a mech before it is released, specially since it is a totem mech for PGI.
I will be expecting a lot of salt threads when it does come out though, 'muh weapons, they dont last long with this thing around'.
There are already a couple of very vocal people who dont like critting when they get critted out by a critlynx, this will just make their cries and potato tears flow that much harder.
This goes far beyond crits. That thing can carry so many Mguns that Armor is no longer a factor, as in it'll chew its way through armor better than the old pre-nerf FS9-A could, and that's a scary thought. Heat generation also won't inhibit and control its output... Which means its lack of tonnage is the only balancing factor.

Clans get Kodiak. Mauler and Battlemaster nerfed.
Clans get Night Gyr. Warhammer nerfed.
Clans get skill trees. IS quirks nerfed.
Clans get MCII. Both LPLs and Battlemasters nerfed.
Hellbringer and Mr Gargles get better omnipods. IS gets nothing.
Clans get Piranha. Something on IS side is about to be nerfed.

or IS could just get nothing.
But probably it will be the battlemaster. Or maybe drop decks.
Or I mean, something in some other game could get nerfed around the same time, and you could probably link those too.

I think what got nerfed was the Inner Spheres ability to reason, have cognitive function and the ability to "git gud"
I haven't seen this much whineing when i joined this community via steam. Infact the IS then manned up and used what they have that the Clans don't......armour.

I like how you ignored the fact that the Kodiak, NightGyr, Marauder II, Supernova, all got their agility nerfed along with most other clan mechs. And the MadCat II will almost certainly get nerfed further when it goes to cbills.

why shouldnt clans get the pirahna? they dont have a 20 ton mech.
the locust probably needs a buff though to compete with the pirahna
and machine guns need ghost heat when you fire 6+ machine guns. mechs should not be able to fire 8-12 machine guns without some kindve heat buildup. its too much dps for no heat.

i agree. It's gonna be ugly for a while.
An interesting question is whether PGI realises this and is deliberately doing it for the Mech Pack cash grab, or whether they don't play their game enough to know how game-breakingly powerful a wave comprising 144 MGs is going to be?
Evil or Ignorant...? That is the question.

The call for a 20t Clan Mech was justified.
But even while fulfilling that, you'd think PGI would have considered the balance impact of the first Mech ever to be able to boat 12MGs (plus ERMicros).
I'm thinking it's 'evil'. They just want the cash and to hell with what it does to the gameplay.
Or 'evil' because they know they're going to introduce ghost heat or some other MG nerf, after we've all bought Piranhas.

And all of those remain top or near top in their respective roles. That's the difference. The only things actually killed were the PPFLD versions of the KDK-3 and NTG. Meanwhile, BLR has been completely replaced by SNV and MAD-IIC depending on range, the WHM by the NTG.
