not really seeing the point of the black lanner though. stormcrow would just be better at 55 tons. or just upgrade to a 65 ton linebacker if you want to play something similar to the black lanner but much better. maybe the black lanner would be okay if MASC got buffed, but MASC is not worth the locked tonnage/crits right now.

it seems like the griffin IIC would bring something useful to clans that they dont have

a 40 ton battlemech that isnt an omnimech like the viper. the viper is a good mech but its loadouts are rather limited due to its locked equipment. the griffin IIC would be able to trade some of that locked gear for more weapons.

A IIC mech coming out before the original?

Surprised it hasn't happened yet, now that I think about it.

As much as I'd love the Coyote, I know she is not very likely due to her obscurity. I think the 'Bad Lanner' is most like.

Shadow Hawk IIC.

45 tons. Designed for Urban Warfare (maps coming). Good Jump Jets. ECM capable....

Fills a niche for the new maps and is marketable.

I'd buy it...........

No matter how much I really want the Black Lanner, and I REALLY want it, the next Clan medium mech will likely be the Mongrel.

As much as I would hate to see the pile of streaming crud in the game, I suspect strongly that it will be the Black Lanner.
It is most certainly not a good mech. At all. It's a steaming pile of junk. However, it is insanely popular for some inexplicable reason.

Come on man, its like the Clan Bushwacker and it looks epic.

Coyotl.
Even though the clan side needs more 55 tonners. We cant ignore the Coyotl, the first Omnimech of all things. Yeah, need it. It will depend on made up PGI variants however, since it only got Prime and alt config A to go for it.

We really need a 'Historical' Mech Collection, where the clans get early Clantech designs like the Coyolt, Woodsman and some of their early battlemechs, and the Inner Sphere gets Star League stuff like the Mackie and Mercury.

The irony of the Coyotl is that it actually performs better on the TT than the mech that replaced it (the Viper), one MP slower (7/11 or 7/11/7 vs 8/12/8)but nearly double (50% more in the jump configuration) the fire power of the Viper....

It will probably be the Black Lanner given the last vote that had it winning by a landslide.

My hope though is that it will be a surprise for everyone and that it is something like the Vapor Eagle or Grendel.

One of these two.

Looks like anemic and too little potential to me. Congrats it's got some great concept art, that's about it. It's so much fun to go really fast and carry little in the way of weapons, ask the Ice Ferret.

Vs the Lithe humanoid chassis of the Vapor, that can be modified to go very fast and lightly armed, or fast and actually have an arsenal and jjs.

Only clan mech left I have any interest in is the Black Lanner

Other than that I don't care, I might buy them or at least pre-order if the art looks good or the cockpit items spark interest. standard pack still remains a solid choice for extras even if you don't like the mech

My purchasing power lies in 3025 Inner sphere, which are outside this threads subject.

Still, 40 tonners aren't the most efficient for 7/11s, that's 45 and 50 tonners (however for 8/12s, 40 tonners are pretty much tied with 35 tonners for 8/12 efficiency). In other words, lets try and get us a Grendel Posted Image
