Thats not an animation flaw, that's the fabled Auto-Trash Compactor System! I thought it was Lostech!

Alright, alright, this is PROBABLY my last complaint about that thing before i lose interest in it and start using my Crappy Trebuchet or Vindicator again.

Unrelated, I took my Trebuchet out today for the first time in a long time. Was just curious to see if it's missile quirks could help it to compete with the Bushwacker (Ok, not compete. 'Exist beside without being a total joke').

Spoiler

Apparently, +10 to Missile Velocity/Cooldown helps.

Maybe the dev team will see that animation. God knows the Uziel needs all the help it can get!

It's still better than the average Vindicator, though. Vindicators are just so, so very bad. Even with all those ultimate quirks they have.

Now that it finally came out for Ceebs and i decided to pick it up, i can finally see the main issue with its running animation.

And it's THIS leg joint. It's completely immobile. It does not move at ANY point of its running or walking animations. As much as the animations are concerned the leg might as well be the exact same as any other chicken walker that lacks that second joint. So, i guess PGI lazied out just reused the animations/skeleton from any other chicken walker, which not only explains the immobile extra joint, but also the broken torso-twisting animation!

Stop being lazy, PGI! Oil up that joint! And fix that damn torso!

Since I have, on numerous occasions, confused the Mad Cat MKII with the Uziel back and forth, it is pretty obvious they just did animations for it and gave them to the Uziel, whom has the identical stance.

Now, think about this.. No one's ever spoken up about the SuperNova animations, but my ******* god it is terrible, the mech looks weightless as it walks.

PGI's professional animators might need replacing. Here's an amatuer's work, you know from the crowd of people that PGI says has no idea how to do game development because we're not in the industry...

Although as of 2013, PGI didn't actually have animators they outsourced the work. Dunno about now. But since they almost always reuse animations (Battlemaster hobble walk and Awesome's bounce walk can be seen in dozens of mechs from medium to assault.

Among the lights, the Locust, Adder and KitFox all use the Raven animations; except only the Raven curls its toes. The others were not given any adjustments to the animation and the toe curling was just 'deleted' from the sequence since their toes don't match.

Since most people don't have an Awesome, compare animations to the Thunderbolt, surely most people have at least one of those since they were meta at one point. Same thing.

Hunchback used to have a unique walk, though the torso sway from MechCommander didn't make much sense for an always ready to shoot torso, so they changed it... to a generic one ripped from another mech.

Anyone remember when the Hunchback walked like this?

Compared to now...

The cockpit made the change years before the body did, but when it did....it lost all of its personality.

From Sarna...

So basically, gyros keep the mech upright, but Nuerohelmets tell the mech when its okay not to be, and helps it keep from toppling over while doing something 'stupid.'

You can compare this to, say aircraft - Conventional wisdom would have you believe these planes are perfectly aerodynamic, but that's not true. For high speed maneuvers, there needs to be a certain lack of aerodynamics - If this weren't true, air planes would only be able to fly in straight lines.

Ah okay. What the quote might best relate is the control laws of a FBW plane. The plane is likely unstable and won't fly in a straight line without computer assistance, and the computer works to keep it safe. It's capable of departing safe/level flight, but it's up to the operator to do so.
