Why not just make events apply to both QP and FP at the same time?

While that`s certainly true since most players will only play FP when bribed into it by an event QP event still pull people out of Faction Play. And the population in FP is already small enough at certain times of the day that losing a few people doesn't help queue times.
In general I think it`d be better if most events could be done in either mode. FP needs to keep the few players it has to have drops at all and FP only events make people want to play it before they are ready, then get farmed and probably doesn't help new player retention.

I have many conversations with many players and thats the only reason people play faction warfare. They decide is the frustration on a flawed game over the reward..
Sorry to have this viewpoint but I wish PGI would just scrape the whole system and rework it into something worth playing

I pretty much only play FP when there's an event going, because I do not enjoy the mode nearly as much as quick play.

FP game experience is incredibly bad, from pub's perspective.
I suspect having events that are related to FP games are hurting the population. After FP game or two against 12 men unit, even I can't muster any strength to play the game further.... let alone typical pubs.

Conspiracy theory: both recent events were done to gather data for the next big swing of the nerfbat. Of course luring people not used to FP into it will produce skewed data. But that doesn't stop them from lucilling the crap outa the spreadsheet.

It happened in the past, and it will happen again.
Team Derp, "Hey team Bob, let's all stand around and make sure EVERYONE gets their head shot in this match".
Team Bob, "We'd love to but we already did that with Clan Bullwinkle earlier, how about we go for KMDD instead?"
Team Derp, "Ya, that'll work!"

That's called exploiting and people who do that usually get banned in other games. You know, like trading PVP wins in an MMORPG or whatever.

Actually, when the FP event was on, most of my drops (both group and solo) were against pug teams because the population got increased due to the event. Pug vs pug is really fun.
