I broke contract 2 days ago (before event was discovered) so I will play clan side (scouting if that is sufficient). I only play on a side until I'm bored though, so IS for no more than 3 months or so and keep rotating.

IMHO its not about tonnage its about effective fire power

in its most simplistic application we would have

effective = heat (less is better)
fire power = alpha number (higher is better)

from these one would generate a combat effectiveness rating for each strike team

then the game maker would match the drops based on these
that would leave player skill/tactics as more of a deciding factor during drops
