[Q]

All the new shiny tech is fun, but sometimes I yearn for the olden days...

Lock mech types/variants + tech level matches based on era. An old school IS v IS 3025 match sounds very appealing to me.

This could be applied to other eras.

Maybe lock it to particular default mech loadouts (no customized laser vomits).

Maybe better implemented as an 'event' instead of an active feature (ie: multiple mode types dilute the available pilots).

Maybe implemented as fixed drop decks and players vote for which mech(s) they want to pilot (don't get your choice, get more voting power next match).

Idea(s) need work obviously.
