It would be cool to be able to choose one of your regular mechs that you play the hell out of and have it be your own personal hero mech, in that it gets a 30% c-bill boost.

Kinda pointless feature with omni mechs, unless there is some stupid good set of 8 bonus.

I don't really need the c-bills since the module refund made me rich but I would still use such a feature on some of my favorite IS mechs that I feel didn't get good hero treatment. For newer players that need help with c-bills but have a mech they like to use I could see this being helpful since they get the bonus without taking a risk on a hero mech or mech pack they might not like.

I do wonder what this would do to hero mechs though, as part of the reason for buying them is the 30% bonus (unique skins and hardpoints too, of course). I think it would hurt the hero sales but I could also see people still buying them for the skins, hardpoints, it being their favorite chassis, etc...

I like the idea (as I brought it up some time ago)!

Concerned about those hero Mechs? Include a drawback: heroes come with a Mechbay, "hero-upgrades" do not (and may even not come with a special geometry). Then there would be the necessity of buying Mechbays, too. Both, heroes and upgrades SHOULD be locked and SHOULD NOT ever be sellable (to prevent mishaps on the user's end).

I would love for something like this to happen.

How about this idea?

Cost $5.
Limit of one per weight class. If sold it will free the slot up again.
C-Bill boost of only 15% to 20% so it won't devalue actual hero mechs.

Yes, it is a long requested feature. Let's see.

Favorite Assault: Deathstrike, already a Hero, and I own it.

Favorite Heavy: Hellbringer, already have the Loyalty version.

Favorite Medium: HBK-IIC-A. Definitely want a Hero version of it.

Favorite Light: I don't pilot Lights much. Perhaps the Adder, but Adder already have a Hero, and omnipods make it irrelevant.

Nah, PGI won't sell it that cheap. It will be something like: $20 for Assault conversion, 15$ for Heavy conversion, 10$ for Medium conversion, and $5 for Light conversion.

AW has (or had, haven't played in a while) this feature where you can turn any regular vehicle into a half a premium vehicle for half the money a regular premium vehicle at that tier would cost.

I get why PGI doesn't want to give us the ability to elevate any mech to hero status as it would conflict with their actual hero sales. A paid option to permanently boost any mech with +10-15% cbills and/or XP for a few bucks seems like a no-brainer and an easy way to increase revenue and foster good will with the player base.

I would love to elevate my BSW-X2. Having the High Roller is an added bonus.

Id go with my HBR-PRIME model, since its the ONLY omnimech i currently own that i actually take full advantage of the set-8 quirks with at least a good number of builds. I can run slightly unoptimized gauss vomit on the mech with 1 GR and 5 lasers and get a 10% energy heat gen quirk atop that (id much love to get a 6th energy in the head, but 10% heat gen quirk is too damn good to pass up). That quirk alone lets me run a BS stupid 73 alfa strike build on the mech (1GR, 1HLL, 4HML) and actually get more sustained DPS then a 32 DHS supernova would get with standard laser vomit builds (either ERLL spam or HLL/LPL+ERML). That said, i tend to run more practical builds that have between 50 and 61 alfa strike, obviously lower alfas if i want more range or DPS, and higher alfa for pure trading at 450-500m.

That said, i prolly would never get a hero mech just for the CB bonus, since im already swimming in CB and the ONLY mech im honestly interested in at this point in time is the MAD-BH2, but thats because it offers some interesting builds and isnt a clone of any other mech. Aside from that, the only other hero id get eventually (once i win enuff MC from events) is the purifier cutefox, simply because i always wanted to play a cutefox, but there is no way to make it competitvely viable without those stupid side torso energy hardpoints (yeah you can have fun and derp around, but without those energy there is nothing that you can do on the mech but act as cannon fodder). Yeah, like it or not, the purifier IS the most blatant case of P2W followed by the deathstrike since not only is it the best variant of all available like the deathstrike, but its the ONLY variant even worth running at all (so in this regard its worse then the deathstrike on how much P2W it is).

My favorite mech already has 30% bons but stack it to 60 would make it even better. The idea of a one time use token to make a mech have 30% bonus has been around forever in one format or another.
