Not only is he an excellent player (last video of him I saw he was in a legged Locust and still killed 3 enemies before going down) but he also does some absolutely crazy things just for the lulz.

That's pure luck that the enemies were stupid. Normally in a legged locust you get 1 shotted by a heavy and/or assault within a few seconds.

LOL
i thought he is from canada where french would be his native language...

Actually, only about 20% of Canadians have French as their main language. Canada mostly speaks English.

I've never tried to build a medium sniper, but the blackjack BJ-3 looks good on paper. It has high hardpoints, and PPC velocity, energy heat and energy range bonuses.

I own the BJ-3. Twin ER-PPC, LFE engine, you're pretty much typecast as a poptart sniper. If you wanna gamble even further as a poptarter, XL engine and more heatsinks, but if enemies are in your face, you're pretty much dead as the BJ-3 has lousy armour.

In nearly all maps/modes in QP and FP (save for Siege), the ideal loadout (IMHO) is having 1-2 long range weapons that are useful in short range and rounding your loadout with mostly short range weapons, cuz CQC brawls win games, not snipes.

Yep, pretty accurate. I just built my first medium sniper. It's a phoenix hawk PHX-1B. I have an ECM, an ERPPC, 2 light machine guns and 2 medium lasers. It's got a 230 light engine and max armor, minus 1 in each leg. The LMGs each have a ton of ammo and I have a C.A.S.E. The rest is double heatsinks.

It worked pretty well my first game with it. It was on Terra Therma. I got 400 and something damage and got the game winning kill. CQC brawls literally won the game in my case because I was in punching range of the last enemy with the machine guns and medium lasers when he went down.

If you're using ML and MGs, I find that the ERLL will fit better than the ER-PPC and you can bring more heatsinks or ammo. This is because your ML and MG need facetime, but your PPC you can fire and twist. If you're gonna facetime, the ERLL will facetime together with your ML/MG combo. Otherwise if you want to twist and fire and keep the ER-PPC, you're better off carrying quick-firing close ranged weapons, eg pulses, ACs and SRMs. With an ERLL and laser reduction nodes, you can still poptart with the ERLL, it's more forgiving at range since u can adjust if you miss (ER-PPC a miss is a miss), and with the ML cooldown nerf, the ERLL fires faster than the ML.

My 2 bits.
