And, that is contrary to what MWO is suppose to be !

I'm pretty sure Solaris is going to be a fad that will be largely abandoned after a couple months, like FP only faster. Only a few people actually do 1v1 intentionally these days, and it gets boring pretty fast. High alpha, shoot for the legs, rinse and repeat. Whee.

Making the WC Clan vs IS with the teams alternating sides would be great if clan and IS were anywhere near balanced. Right now it would meke the WC kind of silly like just taking turns on who's winning, the gap is just too big.

It would probably get the competitive players more involved in the balance discussion though, but there is also the risk of people just refusing to play such lopsided comp matches in the meanwhile.

I'm starting to lean towards PGI keeping IS worse than Clan on purpose at this point, maybe they think it's the best business strategy assuming Clan fanbois buy mechs for the superiority and IS fanbois are more lore oriented and therefore more accepting of bad mechs and will buy them for the nostalgia alone.

Has just been too many years ignoring the issue for it to really be just incompetence at this point, so it has to actually be something more than just not understanding the balance of their game.

On that vid, there are 2 teams that play 3 matches and then switch mech for another 3 matches. There are no IS and clan teams.

IS actually played Tuk2 with those uber quirks and lost. After Tuk2, playing with IS 12 man premade was in effect pressing autowin. New players on the other hand could not find their way out of wet paper bag, no matter quirks. What you keep advocating is return to that IS OP status. It only helps premades and drivers clan pugs to regequit.

I play 1 v 1 a lot to practice and train. Most of KCom does it a lot, especially the officers. I probably dropped 20+ 1v1 matches the other day.

Without question, 99.99999999% of players in this game will actually hate it, though a handful of us will mow through them like we've got godmode toggled on. I honestly expect to get a big laugh out of it, until everyone goes away.

Wow. That's incredibly disingenuous. Nobody is saying they want PPCvomit THD back or the like. Balance comparable to just before KDK release and associated nerfs to IS mechs is about ideal. At no point was IS 12man an 'autowin' any more than Clan 12man is an 'autowin'. It was tough and close matches, IS to Clan. KCom was switching back and forth a lot at that point and all the balance meant was that there were some niche situations (especially ranged trading) where IS had a narrow edge.

Nobody is talking about reverting to an 'IS OP status'. I realize that people who play Clans all the time have only briefly had to play on an even field and so balance feels like a disadvantage, but for the rest of us it was nice to have all the mechs I own have a closer to equal value.

If Clan pugs ragequit because the game is balanced then nothing of any value is lost.

Basically this looks to me like your saying that all the 'pro' players are a bunch of jerks who will screw over anyone 'for a laugh' why the heck are these the people whose techniques and thoughts are used to balance this game?

All pop shots at balance aside. I think it would be a good source of info if they did have a clan versus IS tournament as well. Even if just to show case what the best team builds would be for the IS. It might even in encourage more people to play IS.

No, he's saying that most players don't actually know how to play the game optimally for 12v12, let alone 1v1, and are going to have to learn real quick how to do so or get flattened by those who do. The people worth saving will take those losses as a learning experience, the rest will just complain about how OP SRMs and AC/20s are against their bracket builds or 11-12 DHS, 50+ damage Laser Poke builds that "do fine in QP".
