you knwo what would be fun?

a merc McMonday where every faction player is having to drop in a preset dropship which is equal to everyone. (lets ay thats the day when our owned emchs have to return to hangar for maintenance) then lets see if IS on this days does as good as the clans. But given what I saw on my IS account during some events. It will be the same whiny trashtalk instead of gameplay focussed nightmare as it is on regular days.

before clans people had all sorts of OP and imbalanced talks about other stuff, so thinking this would make stuff better isn't true. instead you would now complain about how premades are OP and how only those 3 OP chassis are used all day making FW boring.

yeha nothign wrong with trial mechs, Some people field stuff WAY worse than what trialmechs have,

Then you are barking at the wrong tree. It is impossible for a company such as PGI to successfully implement asym-warfare with good enough balance in order to not further alienate the leftover population. Heck, even company with rich MP game history such as Blizzard is afraid to make games that have different number of players per side.

Oh, come on - are we seriously to believe that only IS pilots create bad mech builds? A few games in the Quick Play queue should squash that notion. Hell, I just got out of a match with an LRM Night Gyr on my team... so meta! Check out the MWO world championships - almost entirely Clan mechs. So much balance! Posted Image

As for FP, it was doomed the moment PGI allowed large, premade groups to regularly farm and roll random PUG's and tiny, casual groups. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out that is a horrible idea for a game mode. Naturally, once people figured out that anyone not in a high-end group with a lot of buddies on at the same time should stay away from FP, the game mode quickly died. PGI then did nothing useful on it for years, save for adding a few maps and a few stupid things, like the laughable Long Tom nuke. At this point, FP is done. There is no way to salvage the utter disaster it is; they may as well scrap it or start over if they really care... but they don't... it's on to MW5 now.

seriously, have you palyed on both sides? have you tried to compare your teammates builds? Is pilots have the habit not to only bring mcuh worse builds, they only bring a much more worse mentality. Some even give up when their first wave fails to result in a positive K/D compared to the opponents and keep sh1ttalking the entire rest of the match. But thats not how FW works, especially not as an attacker. I've been there I've seen it and would never ever go play IS side again without a premade. Sure you find some of these people on clanside, but they aren't that much, and so isntead of "grouping up" with their mad mentality, the one or 2 guys complaing get told to shut up by the others. The bad apples are a minority on clanside but a majority on IS side. and this cases a bad snowballing effect.

Hence my use of the word “imagine”.

As for other companies with “rich game history”, how many of their latest games are mere rehashes of their previous titles? Very few developers are willing to take risks when milking cash cows is so much easier.

It's not fear, it's that anyone who's done social analytics knows it's a doomed idea. Look at pug queue - how many players would rather lose a match but get a bunch of kills/damage vs how many want to win the match even if they die with 0 kills and 100 damage?

It is a fundamentally flawed idea. It ignores how people behave and what motivates them in a game. It ensures an environment where vet players in the superior gear farm nubs in the cheaper (and it would have to be cheaper) redshirts gear.

Just stop doing FP events. Problem solved. No one will complain about FP because no one will be playing it. The fact that they have to bribe people to get into their broken, lame, painful game mode is evidence enough that people don't want it. They don't even have to shut it down. Just stop doing events and it'll shut itself down.
