if that is the case, then why would it need more armor?

Where did I say that armor should go?

Cos it’s not just lasers that shoot at lights... and it doesn’t all spread. Also anything that reduces the consistent fear of being one shotted is good =)

I agree that it's a bit fragile, but hardpoints & engine cap are pretty good:

I run the OSR-3D with XL280, 5xSPL, 2xMG(1t), 3JJ and TC1 or XL280, 5xML, 2xLMG(1t), 3xJJ, 1xDHS.
The OSR-4D I run with XL 270, 6xML, 2JJ & 3DHS.

For soloQ I find the 4D better, due to range. For coordinated groupQ I find the 3D with SPL works better.

I run the 1V with 3xSRM2 & 4xSL but am not yet satisfied with it's performance.

I haven't had enough matches in them to really say, but they are working for me so far:

quick glance, you didn't specify... beyond a somewhat nebulous "protecting critical areas"... which on any IS Light Mech is pretty much the Torsos, since XLs are mandatory for use.

Unless I missed something?

"My only quirk recommendations are more armor and, as applicable to every IS 'Mech, 10% energy heat gen reduction.
The armor isn't so you can tank, it's so you can survive some of the incidental hits you are going to take regardless of how you play. A 'Mech that directs incoming damage to critical areas more than others because of its shape/size needs hitpoints on said critical areas."

It always confuse me when people want armor on light me mech? You are not meant to be getting shot at.

It's still a battlemech? unless you are using LRMs only and "lockz plz" playstyle, you will be shot at.

Im not sure how i feel about the Osiris.

It's squishy as all hell, fells too big,and feels slow for moving 129 kph

I've been running a bunch of different ideas. One is basically a Raven without ECM and a couple extra backup weapons
One runs MRMs and LMGs with a light PPC for range work.
One runs LRM 5s and LPPCs. That one is the most fun so far,but has no up close defenses, but is a good longer ranged harrasser.
The hero runs dual Lppc,ERML and LMGs.

They all feel kinda samey, and with all those JJs you can't make use of heavier gear very well. I pretty much just removed them save for maybe one or two.

It feels like a Locust and Raven got together, made a mech with some of the good and bad ideas of each, and this is what we have. An average mesh of both.

I might build one to be like a Hughinn but I'm not sure yet

I know what I said and you are correct, I didn't specify. So please check yourself before putting words in my mouth next time, k?

But, to clarify, I would say legs are the Osiris's weakest point. It can dead-leg pretty well, but dead-legging implies you have already been legged. Getting legged is easy in one. And on Lights? Legs are usually just as critical as torso, often more so.

That being said, even needing torso armor wouldn't necessarily mean it has problems spreading damage. A Locust spreads damage excellently...just not a lot of it.

That said, I don't think the Osiris is anywhere near as bad as some other 'Mechs. It's not amazing, but it's not horrible, either. It is fast, nimble, jumpy, and has all the right guns in all the right places.

It'd be more impressive if all the right guns weren't nerfed for all the wrong reasons, honestly.
