Anything times practically/virtually 0 fun in faction play is still 0.

You just don't know what's good.

Playing against NS in FW 1 was some of the most fun I had in FW.

Long Toms aren't in Faction Warfare anymore. Haven't been for a while as far as I know. Unless they've put them back on while I was dormant.

Sure, but that wiped out a rather significant part of the population that played FP/CW. It's hard to get serious with FP/CW ever since.

It was emptying before LT showed up. LT just emptied some clips of 180mm into its back while it was running away. The lack of point or purpose.

Then 1 bukkit. I know literally hundreds, as in maybe 300 or 400, players who left over that. That and LT and just the general sense of apathy from PGI.

I don't know why people are blaming Long Tom. Long Tom trolling was absolutely a blast. The trolling was easier as I.S. as well since we had many more fast lights at the time.

People need to remember the correct history of LT as well. It went from broken, less broken, rebroken, weak sauce to removed. Not all the iterations were terrible.

Every iteration was terrible.

I don't need something stealing my damage at kills and rewarding camping and waiting for LT. It also drove the pugs away.

Some people seem to forget that the Long Tom was primarily a clan weapon since the clans dominated scouting in Phase 3.
Did wonders at driving I.S. players right out of Faction Play.

None of that mattered. The problem with longtom was the counter play was to quit or quit and go deal with 4v4. Counterplay has to be within the game instance you are playing or there is a red flag game design issue. It amazed me that PGI took so long to axe it, almost as if it was someones pet idea from high up. That wasnt the only thing wrong with phase 3. Phase 3 in general was devastating.

It would have been interesting to see what CW could have become if we hadn't let it be abandoned for MW5. Now go out there, and buy some escalated nostalgia pixels to support PGI's next fail venture.

i tried playing fp before the last batch of events, was getting about a drop an hour. thats going to have to improve just to get the people who want to play fp to play fp. want me to play is, give me a faction with a 50+% bonus.

none of these things increase the fp population. if anything they caused it to stagnate.

Or give you a faction at all lol, the symbol next to your name is pointless and a decent developer would simply remove it. But we all know PGI's gonna milk this ***** for all shes got.(Gotta catch them whales) As for your wait times there only gonna get longer.

Those are participation awards everyone gets for happening to be on the winning side.

Now to answer your original question, if you want to make Faction Warfare more 'fun,' then drop with a unit...otherwise, you face the 12-man premades everyone loves so much.

Faction Warfare isn't for individuals...it's for units. They're the ones at the top of the planetary capture leaderboards, they're the ones who get the credit, they're the ones dominating the landscape.

You asked for the solution to making Faction Warfare 'fun;' unit members are desperately trying to give people the answer...but people who want to go solo don't like what they're hearing, and they dismiss the advice...then they complain about 'getting farmed.'

Do you want to have fun, or do you want to get farmed?

Until it sinks in that forming up as a team/with a unit is really the best way to play Faction Warfare, and was the way it originally was designed, the trend of unit 12-mans smashing pugs will continue-until those individuals finally avail themselves of the tools at their disposal and cause it to stop.
