It should, I believe they're considered proper weapon bay doors on the Crab and King Crab. Not so much on the Roughneck, which I BELIEVE can open its hands? I've never tried.

Yea I believe it should too, but I need confirmation so I can base my decision on whether to open or close based on accurate info.
Yea I mainly want to know about the crab mechs.

I believe so. In any case, opening them probably isn't required. Unlike Catapult bay doors, the claws don't take half an hour to open.

Smurfys still has them (Crab arms) as receiving 90% damage value when in the closed position.

Does that include king crab? What about hitbox increase? may need to test this on private.

crab and king crab arms have no firing delay unlike archer and catapult firing bays. I vaguely recall they increased the damage resistance for archer and catapult locations

All doors that open or close have a 10% damage reduction when closed. That goes for arms and torsos;

Here's the information on doors:
The Crab and King Crab have those claws that give a 10% damage reduction when closed and have no firing delay, there is no reason to ever have them open, as you'll just take more damage and have bigger arm hitboxes.
All other mechs with missile bay doors get a 20% damage reduction but a half second delay on firing, giving you a reason to open them if you're trying to alpha strike, especially with SRM boating builds. However, it works out well for LRM boats running enough launchers that they'd hit ghost heat alpha striking, as the delay avoids ghost heat for you.
