Hello to all of you!
I have enjoyed watching MWOWC and it has inspired me. I would really like to get involved in competitive MWO. Is there a current list of mechs regularly used in comptitions? I read on Metamechs site that some comps do not allow light mechs. It also has a detailed list but that site seems to be a little out of date. I read somewhere else that in some competitions you can only use mechs available for c-bills. No Hero mechs etc... A list would belp guide me and others in puchasing mechs with the goal of playing competitively.
Thank you.

Far as that goes.. Literally any mech variant that doesn't have an actual "name" that is 40 tons or higher.
For competition stuff, good question. I would watch their mechs and see what they are using. This said I feel that most mechs are very viable provided you become experienced enough in them and build to their strengths. For example relying heavily on DPS in a fast mech is not recommended because you may run too fast to keep the fire on the enemy and might be too fragile to take the abuse necessary to keep the pressure on them.
I wish I could help further but I personally don't share their interest in championships. I'm just waiting for Mechwarrior 5 Mercenaries and Battletech (PC) to come out so I can enjoy the game's universe more as it was intended.
Side note: Metamechs is the primary go to for these groups. From there they take those builds, tweak and refine them within their guilds and they don't share THOSE builds with the public so that they have an edge.

Thank you for your input on this. I've been watching MWOWC and the play of the Arctic Cheetahs and Hunchback IIC-As has stood out to me. In the semis the play of the Mist Lynxes seem to have made a huge impact. I will start with them and go from there.
