Lend me ya'lls collective cranuims for a moment. I've got a few c-bills saved up, and rather than do the smart thing and skill stuff, I want a new mech to run around in. So I started looking at thing I didnt have in the clan medium area, and as I already owned a nova, shadow cat, multiple huntsman, a stormcrow, HBK-llC (C) and a viper.

So as far as clan mediums go that leaves me with what, THE Ice Ferret only?

I think that's a hard pass on the Ice Ferret.

You could get an IFR-P (ECM CT) or a HBK-IIC-A (8 Energy).

If you want to save for a WHK (WHK-C ?), why not save for a MAD-IIC instead (MAD-IIC, MAD-IIC-C or MAD-IIC-D)?

Ferret has some legitimate usefulness in FW....but I can't think of a single reason to use one in QP. Although I'm not sure the Warhawk is a overall better choice really.. the ppc boat variant maybe.

Tried the MAD-llC just couldnt get it to work for me. And yeah the WHK-C is what I was thinking.

So is the Ferret really just that bad? Or are there just superior options?

The Ice Ferret is OK, you're just limited to SRM & laser builds with only 9 tons to work with, both things I think the Huntsman & Stormcrow do better. It's as fast as the Viper, but lacks the JJs to maximise that mobility advantage.

Are there any builds on said warhawk I should try? Other than the 4 erll/ 4 peep hawk? Atms worth it on these suckers?

Go the Watkins hawk prime. 4xERPPC and AMS.

I actually take this mech into FW on maps like Polar, Frozen and Alpine.

No real reason to get the WHK-C anymore, the WHK-Prime is your best bet with 4 ERPPCs. Outside of that I guess the WHK-C is good if you just wanted to laser vomit but the WHK is not really apt for that.

Ferret was fun with 5 cERML or 5 HML before patch, now you're probably better off with the Peacedove.

You misspelled obsolete...
The ferret is now 2nd to the arctic wolf in my opinion.
The ferrets arms get blown off easy if you boat lasers, and hardly enough weight for ammo if you use missiles.
It's fast and if you get the ecm it's stealthy

Then there's the AW.. Just as fast and can pack more of a punch on a smaller frame...

Get a warhawk.

I mastered my IFRs when they arrived but they hard to justify using when you also have the SHC and SCR so I haven't really used them much since.

are you saying AW is bad, is good, or is like the IFR where it just gives up legs faster than a skink in a chickencoop?

AW feels leagues ahead of the fridge lol...

I think hes reffering to my use of the word superior, which would be interchangable with obsolete in this case.

If you didnt like the MAD-IIC, then the MC-II sounds like it might work for you!
