Other than being a slow, giant, squishy target? At least the IS version has massive armor quirks.
The JJs are not very effective for anything other than hopping over a small rock and the hardpoints leave a lot to be desired.
I have the one with 4E 3M hardpoints and the best I could get out of it was trolling with ATMs which are not very effective on anyone who knows how to use cover unfortunately.
My Highlander IIc-A (the one you have) is set up as follows.
2 ER-PPC + 2 DHS in the RA
2 SRM6 + 2 tons ammo + 3 DHS RT
1 ton SRM ammo in the head
1 Jumpjet and 1 ton SRM ammo CT
2 Medium pulse lasers + 4 DHS LT
1 SRM6 + 1 ton ammo + 3 DHS LA
RL/LL each have a DHS
325 XL + 3 DHS
No endo or ferro
Max armor.
It works pretty well with decent heat management (27 doubles on this *****) I play conservativley early match poking with the PPC arm and then roll out for close quarters once the enemy has some open components.
Vertical cover is your friend! all you need to do is poke the right side out far enough to see and shoot. I use the single JumpJet to quickly reorient and turn and hop over tiny pebbles that would otherwise lock my 90 ton mech in place!
