It took me a long time to talk about this, and I'm saying this while even regarding the absolute dedication there is towards having exact tonnage values borrowed from tabletop. So there's little chance that the tonnage values will change. So instead of pushing for a change, I'm just going to ask a simple question.

Why?

Why did the original tabletop rules choose to have this at all?

What purpose does it serve to actually have increased tonnage values for MRMs and LRMs? For larger sized launchers?

Why is the MRM 20 & 30 launcher penalized. But not the MRM 40?

Why does the LB-10X cost 1 ton less and the other LB Autocannons cost the exact same amount as their original AC counterparts?

I can't help but imagine that most of these arbitrary rules may once have had a valid purpose. But clearly, not anymore. Even I'm willing to admit that table top rules can be incredibly flawed at times. I imagine that it's still there, just because the ones behind it all couldn't be bothered to update all the 'mechs that would have to be changed. And that's a shame, we have to suffer for it.
