The Inner Sphere almost outguns the Clans in the department of the Light `Mech game-wise, by a margin of nearly 3-to-1.

Currently, and this does not include the forthcoming Piranha, there're only these:

Mist Lynx (Koshi)
Kit Fox (Uller)
Jenner IIC
Arctic Cheetah (Hankyu)
Adder (Puma)
Cougar


I ask this: Why another Clan Medium when the Clans are need of Light `Mechs??

It makes no sense to offer up another Clan Medium for sale, when everyone here is ask for, and barely received a Clan Light 'Mech. True, we've got Loyalty rewards coming to us with the Kit Fox G as a loyalty reward, but seriously, PGI, we're not asking for much. Just listen to us, and let us show you what we need; not just what we want. Thank you.

Clans do need another 25-tonner and imo they also deserve a better 35-tonner.

Fire Falcon and Horned Owl are in due order.



But innersphere also needs another 25-tonner.

IS to Clan Light Ratio: 12:7 (1.71:1)

IS to Clan Medium Ratio: 17:8 (2.13:1)

Including unreleased mechs. So it looks like, if you just want to compare faction numbers, Clans actually do need a medium more than a light.

EDIT: Actually, todays Clan medium puts the ratio to 1.89:1. Pretty damn close to the 1.71:1 light ratio.

The Fire Moth would give us an omni option at 20-tons and plug the second-to-last weight slot lacking an omnimech. It would also provide missile options the Piranha lacks. A simple negative speed quirk would keep it under the speed limit.

The Fire Falcon would provide a nice counterpart to the Mist Lynx, one that trades jump mobility for raw speed and greater firepower.

I'm strictly a Inner Sphere Loyalist, but with my alternate account, I would love to have another Clan Light to add to my arsenal and retinue. To me, it just doesn't make sense to sell another Clan Medium, however, that's what we're getting come tomorrow. And by all accounts, it's the Black Lanner.

I have nothing against the Lanner in any way. Played it in MechWarrior 4 when Mektek did their thing with the Expansion packs. Loved it, but they didn't add the MASC to it. I do welcome it, however, I would much rather have the Clan Light. Hopefully, with this, PGI will sell us another Clan Light come January.

Look, I understand that more lights=more fun for a lot of people. If that's your jam, you're welcome to it.

But your OP was built on the following premises:

1. 1 to 3 mech ratio (False, it's 1:1.71)
2. That people are asking for lights and not receiving them (False, the IS just got a light, and the Clans just got a light announcement)
3. That while we want a medium, we need a light (With this post, you've backtracked that, as your only argument for a light seems to be that you want one more than a medium)

I'm all for people asking for what they want - I want IS Omnis, no matter how bad they'd be - But lets be honest about it.

Well we have the Piranha incoming soon. I'd love to see the Fire Moth but PGI can't code HSR that wouldn't break the game because it's too fast. I wouldn't mind the Howler either. It's art looks like **** in the TRO but I'm sure Alex could make it into something presentable. I have always been a big fan of the Horned Owl but it doesn't seem to be in high demand by other players, so unfortunately for me I doubt we will see it before we see a Locust IIC which is in much higher demand than the Horned Owl. I'd also love to see the Urbanmech IIC make it into the game.

Clan lights sure, another Clan medium is not bad either....clans are evenly spread out honestly after the new mech today/tomorrow.

I reject the entire premise of this topic. Desire stems from capability brought to drop deck combinations, not some non-existent yearning for chassis number parity.

The Black Lanner fills an ECM gap between the Ice Ferret and Hellbringer. In that regard it DOES bring something. People want the Rifleman IIC because of its insane meta potential, not because the I.S. has dozens more redundant heavy chassis.

Lastly why is a Davion advocating for the vatborn? (On Edit, nevermind you said you had a Clan alt).

Howler for 20 tonner
Solitaire for 25 tonner
Pack Hunter or Hellion for 30 tonner
Skip the 35 tonner, 3 is enough

IS mediums are fine. IS Heavies, one the other hand, way too many. No more heavies for at least 1 year.

Well my choices are simple for lights.

20tons: Fire Moth: Infintly better than the Howler, don't recoginze that thing as a mech.

25tons: Commando IIC it's a commando with clan tech, Locust IIC: meta slaves new favorite, every assault pilot's bane.

30 tons: Incubus well balance, able to carry a good asenral, lack jj or ecm but it get more hp for not having them, Pack Hunter Clan panther but 100x better, Hellion better gun boat light.
