PPCs won't see love until the carpeting at PGI headquarters has finally dried out from the river of tears caused by the great Thunderbolt scourge a few years ago.

That was, like, one month.

The real Thunderbolt scourge was the 350 meter MPL spam from the TDR-5SS.

I miss that.

You forget the era of the 7.5 heat IS ERPPC pewpew pistol from the TDR-9S.

What if there was a node that made it so those who receive PPC-fire not only lose ECM, but their minimap grays-out for a few seconds?

IMO the range nodes should decrease the min range by the same percentage, so it could also apply to LRMs/ATMs/Rockets.

What if PPCs could crit things in the torso it hits regardless of armor? Like not all things but like ECM, BAP, Targeting computers, Command Console. LRM and ATM ammo could be destroyed but not explode. Maybe a chance to temporarily disable convergence on weapons in that torso, or disable the weapon itself, if only temporarily. Or maybe termporary loss of movement of an arm or torso twist. What if even one headshot could crit life support, cause shutdown, or cause betty to start screaming like a demon, regardless of armor, you know?

It was the a FW/CW theme for a bit though.. and pretty sure longer than a month for the ERPPC Thunderbolt.

Ugh. As much as the crit system is generally a gimmick, making CERPPCs even more useful is not something I would vouch for. Remember that their crit damage was reduced (although that also came with equipment health being reduced) at some point. IS PPCs (particularly the IS ERPPC) are still not in a good place and this is not a real solution. Actual rebalancing of the PPCs on the whole (mostly buffing IS PPCs with some tweaks here and there) is what is needed.

Okay, my mistake. It was two months.

It entered the game on 12-09-2014 and left the game on 02-17-2015.
