It's not that they don't require skill, they just require LESS skill in terms of aiming. Compare pin-point laser in taking down a light, versus just hovering your aim over them for an amount of time, followed by a fire-and-forget volley of missiles that makes it much easier than having to time your shots with an AC, PPC.
