I'm fairly new to faction play, so I noticed that people normally keep their clan stuff in a separate account. Is it necessary?

No, one can simply become a merc and switch every seven days. Two accounts is wasteful of paint, warhorns, decals, etc.

I second that - I made a new account to see what the game is like to start over from nothing after the Skill Tree and haven't gone back to my main. I don't regret it, because I never really spent money on that account, but I *do* have a considerable amount of MC from events and things that I can't access. It's not worth it to keep things separate.

Basically for me, it boils down to,

If you want to run premium time, then one..

If you want to play either side of FW at any time, and play enough to make double event rewards worth it, then two.. (so actually its not wasteful to warhorns and cockpit items you earn far more to use) Paint and decals you may end up buying more, but my accounts have different color themes anyway, so its not as big of a deal.

Down side, If i had one account i would most likely have bought a years worth of premium on sale for 50 bucks, makes leveling mechs far easier. (though i do use month long premium from packs from time to time, or i buy weekend/day passes when i want to really grind, aka leveling mechs, or i just need lots of C-bills

Paint, You need to buy more if you like to paint things.. BUT buying one of the larger packs, like resistance II, and wave III or origins comes with lots of paint. Also they are adding paint as pre-order items for packs, and with events and such you can get a decent amount of colors over time.

That said, i do have a lotta paint on both accounts from buying things and earning things., and i grab stuff on sale, but had i bought one of those mech packs earlier with the faction camo packs, i would of spent less. Buying one of the 3 packs i mentioned is a great way to boost your account with bays, c-bill booster mechs, and premium time along with paint.
