It is the short fat kid of the Clan mechs, but also not a particularly uncommon machine in the Clans. Other than being a Jade Falcon mech (which is totally lame), if its x horizon could be squished in I think it belongs in game (even with its baby legs)

All those hardpoints in basically a high straight line would please the "OMG any amount of facetime makes a weapon useless" bunch, who can do their cute little hill poke game with it though.

We dont need it because we need Blood Asp as a newxt clan assault.

As for ugliness, they made this look good, so no problems with making turkina look good.

Really, the Turkina would make more sense as the next 'mech because it was built before the Blood Asp, and the big thing is that the Blood Asp stayed is actually pretty rare in the Inner Sphere, contrary to its common portrayal in certain MechAssault and MechCommander games. I can't imagine Clan Hell's Horses having more than two trinaries worth of the 'mech. The Turkina, on the other hand, was deployed throughout the Inner Sphere.

But of course buying 'mech packs is just a big popularity contest, but if we could get the Black Lanner, I'm sure we can also get the Turkina.

Gameplay wise, I imagine it being somewhat quirked in order for it to have a niche between the Dire Wolf and Executioner and Warhawk. It's kind of like a fatter, slower Summoner with its fixed jump jets, but it has one missile-heavy variant for an option, which I think is something needed among the Clan assault omnimechs.

At first I thought Turkina was walking in it's arms and was aiming with it's legs

So it would be like a shorter, wider Nightstar?

Do you reckon they would risk the wrath of angling the arms down again? Posted Image

No, it´s ugly and we already have plenty of assaults.
Clans need a 60 ton mech and moar lights, real lights Posted Image or some totem mechs.

That would be pretty silly, but they could introduce some more protomech weapons, downsized autocannons (somewhat similiar to the light ppc of the sphere) by example would be really nice for some of the smaller mechs.

I'm more put off by Turkina's fixed JJs. That's several tons of useless hoverjet. At least with Blood Kite, I can remove them. I really wish PGI would improve JJs without bringing back poptarts. It is soooo easy to do. But no, they lack imagination.

As a general rule, protomechs were one of the more ridiculed and silly things that came out of the later years of Battletech. The design was just so silly, it was cool that they used aerospace pilots for them but they looked ********.

Its more the opposite - compared with ProtoMechs the BattleMechs are the silly ones.
A ProtoMech is comparable with a IFV squad plus IFV support - size is perfect for modern battlefields - the 12m height mech however???

About the look - hey prototypes -Matthew Plog already redesigned some ProtoMechs for a sturdy mass production look.
Spoiler

Doesn't matter - the Turkina would combine the worst attributes of DireWolf (slow speed, wide as a barn) and Executioner (hoverjets)

This is usually exactely my point regarding a LOT of new Mechs.
However, it became hard to be used as an argument, because ... *cough*.

Hellspawn, Nightstar, Bushwacker, Crab, there's so many unbearably ugly Mechs already that MWO has long turned into a BT fanart game. Something like 3/4 of BT-canon Mech designs should have never been accepted. Yet, no matter how cheesy or ugly a mech is, there's always a crowd of people demanding to have it and willing to pay absurd amounts of money for it.

That pancake Mech plus some beautifications from PGI would actually be an improvement.

Turkina always sounded like some weird Turkey abomination, sort of like Turducken.

Maybe a Turkina is a Turkey marinated in a Pina Colada or something along those lines. *shrug*
