Send it back to the drawing board and call the new one a replacement... Theres a few more i could prolly reccomend go with it but i'm sure everyone can agree on that one at least..

but it probably means polar highlands will get voted for less

for maybe a week...

then itll be polar highlands again as usual

Depends. Does it mean I can get rid of Mining Collective because I think it stinks?

Ironically, maps voted for often are the least likely to get removed. Polar's popular? Good luck ever seeing it go.

Polar Highlands (and Alpine Peaks) is NOT a 'bad' map.

It's just that most of you play it badly...

And I can’t wait for all the threads saying the new map is crap.

Going to happen, just watch. I’ve already proposed a fix that would make people at least willing to deal with whatever map/mode end up getting played. Not going to argue about it again.

You know, I used to hate Polar Highlands, but I've come to appreciate it more as I've gotten adjusted to it. The interplay between the various small valleys and positioning of the whole team and making effective approaches is fairly interesting. Yes, there's always the issue of LRMs, but it actually makes spotter mechs a viable playstyle. Not to mention give you a special appreciation for a well-placed UAV.

Polar is not so bad. However, the people who usually vote for it are usually the problem.

Getting rid of it? No.

New map is going to have a higher % in map vote rotations though. Let everyone complain about how bad the new one is for a couple weeks and watch it be close in votes to polar highlands when both are up at the same time after that point.

Hell, if people hate it enough i'll have another thing to save votes for other than Terra Therma/Dom. Posted Image

PGI could Probably add more Rocks around the Hills or Trenches and it would be fine,
personally i dont see a problem with the map unless you get Narc'ed(then your Toast! ;) )

I would much rather they add old Frozen City and Forest Colony back.

I'd love to see how I play on those maps now I'm not as bad of a pilot as I once was (though by no means that great Posted Image ).

If we were to get rid of any map, HPG needs to go back into the map repair shop for rework...

The only purpose for that map is brawling and too many of MWO maps favor close in brawling.... let's open up the playing field and use the rest of MWO's weapons....

The new map will favor where the profitability is for PGI; make no mistake about that.

well from the teaser doesnt seem like they have expanded thier color palette at all and still using the everything is grey color..

like i said send it back to the drawing board and do a little redesign.. It could use more to it.. and heck everything could use a lil sprinkle of something on it to break it up, hint theres more than 4 colors... But polar is too flat with no cover, trenches that wont stop an lrm arent cover (you cant call one shovel full of dirt out of the ground a foxhole u can hide in)

They should also reduce the size of the map IMO. And it would be cool if they made the trenches a lot deeper... like fighting in a foxhole.

Otherwise, unused map are just a waste of time, effort, money, and other very limited PGI resources.

Instead of merely changing existing maps, why not just add similar ones but with a different set of features? The end result is additional maps. We need more maps!
