stomps were less common in 8v8

because as long as you still had someone good on your team they could turn the game around

if you were down by 3 mechs in 8v8, a 1v3 upset win was still possible some of the time

but in 12v12, if youre down by like 5+ mechs, a 1v5 generally isnt winnable by even the best players

12v12 made the avalanche effect worse and made it significantly harder for skilled players to pull off upset wins

yes this is true.. but even in 12 v 12 recent months have been seeing an increase in stomps.. moreso that i can proly say that stomps were less common pre skill tree the same as you say stomps were less common in 8v8.. the difference is noticable i think..

12 v 12 + sync drop solo Q meta, seriously it's gotten rather stupid, some groups even brag about it before and after the match.

Why dont you make screenshots and bring it up on the forums so we can have a new drama to complain about? Those kind of things need proofs.

It's been like this for months years now.

FTFY

It's very easy to get the snowball effect in this game, its the nature of it. It even happens in competitive play where otherwise skill is equal, sometimes all it takes it the right positioning and then momentum (aka strategy).

I'm seriously wondering about the sync drops issue. Seems like some "pug" teams are just too coordinated. So far, none of the same unit tags but that'd be the first thing I'd change if I wanted to game the QP matchmaker....

That is true, but larger numbers do tend to result in bigger snowballs potentially.

In that same vein of thought, it is totally possible to win 1v5, just not if they all fight you at the same time with any semblance of skill with their weapon choices, which does at least require at least a basic level of coordination.

that happened to me earlier. it was 4v1 and the enemy team had a completely undamaged roughneck. while the 4 mechs on my team were all cored red. for some reason they went at him 1 at a time and he killed all of them in succession. it was pure potato.

It gets worse as older bads who normally barely play anymore show up for the events.

Since Tier is essentially a "time played" bar, this means matchmakers are flooded with high tier, low skill players in older and frequently badly built chassis.

This inflames the already stomp-prone system.

That kind of suggests that the tier bar should deplete to a certain degree if you are out of the game for a while.
That may not be a bad thing.
The changes to mechs and equipment is enough to give a different experience.
I think that is a fairly common practice in other games?

How without revealing name and team associations? CoC for sure. And, even if we did that and somehow got away with naming names and teams, I seriously doubt anybody would do anything about it...... Would they? So, how is "taking a picture value added"; if no one can or will do anything about it? It is happening and the older mechwarriors seem to know just about every other older MW and know whom they team with and they know most of the alternative accounts and names used.....

If they say it is happening, and, we see it a lot of late, I believe them...... But, there again, who cares that gameplay is falling apart??? Solaris, MECOM, Nov 14 patch and MW5 will make this better, you'll see !!! It's a stable niche so don't expect any major changes because stable niche's can't and don't tolerate major change.... Adapt, overcome and survive.

As the title says, I have seen in the last 4 days, Lop-sided wins and losses being the norm in QP now. There have been some close matches yes, but that used to be normal.

Just today, 5 matches and all have been lop-sided losses. Some are even wondering if something is up?

Anyone else experiencing this?

\That's been happening for 2 years....

Fear and distrust. Easy as that, four PUGs all in critical, none of them want to be the ones to die first because they think it'll be a loss if they do. Because surely the OTHER three can't win it.

So they all die and lose, naturally.
