Please PGI i like those event ideas but it leads to terrible gameplay if you dont need to win the match. Most people just go head on into the enemy team to get a kill and then quit the game.

Those solo kills should not count if you loose the match.

I have to avoid playing MWO for the next 3 days. Thats just sucks...

Why do you need to avoid playing MWO? Just kill the enemy as always. If you know or think that you know they are going to charge at you then lay an airstrike in waiting for them to soften them up.

Honestly I dont notice anything different, every game is a random mash up and I usually find its myself that has screwed up when I die.

Ive seen more conservative plays during yesterdays evening than during last week...at least half of my losses could be wins if team actually decided to push for once.

Oh and like always scouting is ******* cancer.

So far today I'm carrying (or failing to carry) PUG queue same as it as ever was.

The only thing I've noticed that's different is that Polar Highlands is being selected more, because:
  • weekend+event=casuals
  • casuals love to boat noob tubes, and
  • casuals in noob tube boats love Polar.

I am happy with any event that lets me earn a sizable chunk of MC.

PSA for the benefit of casuals in LRM boats: trying to LRM your way to a solo kill is actually much harder than in a high-alpha direct-fire Heavy or Assault.

Most people are NOT going to get the required kills or solo kills no matter how they play.

I finished a while ago, thinking about doing the faction part of it but not really looking forward to it.

Have them tied to KMMD is way better than Solo Kill.

Well i dusted off my kdk3.

I can also propose mass srms and streakboats in scouting.

Events and challenges tend to bring out the most obnoxious game play, Kill-based ones make them excruciatingly much worse.

jeez, we're been given a simple event you can complete playing with your left foot and still get your thousand mc, and you guys found a reason to complain.

This event is the best event. Simple, straightforward, and good prizes.

Ramboing the enemy team unsupported in hopes of getting kills is very inefficient way to farm this event.

Ugh, remember last year when they had the April Fools event???? Folks running around in 3rd person trying to get a kill and so forth. That was really terrible. This one doesn't seem so bad comparatively.

I would say the Halloween event was quite a bit more harmful. You only needed a 100 match score, and there was zero benefit in doing better than that.

I think some folks don't remember just how utterly, atrociously bad the events were before PGI stopped requiring wins for them. Some of the events now are still iffy, but they're a casual stroll down easy street compared to, say, the Victor event several years ago. You wouldn't be asking for something like that if you had any awareness whatsoever of what it would bring out in the playerbase.

Adding victory as a reward condition leads to more toxicity than any other combination of factors. Instead of the odd single idiot quitting to farm faster, you get half or more of your team disconnecting (or worse, actively helping the enemy) the instant the match looks like it won't go your way. After all, why stick it out if you know you're not gonna get the cookie?

Or even worse: kill+win+survive events. You've got not only teams that vaporize when the enemy grabs an early lead, but now it's just as bad being on the winning side because as soon as each player has their kill they run and hide for the rest of the match.

You don't want events that require wins. You really, really don't.

since this event, nearly all the matches I have been in, most are NOT into the match for the objectives. It's just one be fat murderball and in most cases, ends up in a lopsided win/loss. There have been a few close calls and I enjoyed them matches. Just this morning, three matches, three deaths, no kills, So I'll sit out until the players worth playing with come out as my play time is limited.

Last night I ended up with everything but one solo kill for QP. No big deal, just playing as usual.

Did see a lot of RL carriers though. Javelins, Kintaros, Bushwhackers.

Always get a chuckle out of people complaining about free stuff... they're giving out MC too and there is still whining. I'm liking this game a lot so far but man, this community could be the biggest group of sorry *** complainers I've come across.

They just need to make the event about 7 days long instead of just 3. Then people won't feel as pressured.
