One of these things needs to be nerfed. Being able to easily put out 800+ dmg in any game you set foot in is absolutely ridiculous.

MLX-G is completely balanced. Posted Image

I don't get it, the MLX really is bad though. Goes slower than most other lights, turn maneuverability is average and its only claim to fame is being able to bring 8 terrible weapons backed up by 4 somewhat less bad weapons. All this while being able to get demolished in a good hit.

Notice how each of those arms is about half the size of the entire torso section?

It's nice to have a Light mech which isn't completely worthless

Also, yours is built wrong.
Your arms are weak, and will not survive the winter

No. Leave it alone. It's perfect exactly where it is.

Well, it would be nice if there was more than one viable choice for the arm and RT Omnipods...

I mean, what else do you want in your RT? Missiles? More MGs? Meh. The 'Mech is capable of running more guns than it can reasonably support already.

The SRM MLXes are also quite potent. Have been for some time. It would have been nice if PGI didn't go and yank the SRM spread quirk from the MLX-B and then nerf the SRM4 spread directly, but they still work. And they tank almost as well as an Urbie with all that extra armor.

The cERSL pop-tarting is also quite nippy. It has a better front profile than the ACH, which makes it better at it. I only wish those particular arms had their structure buffs converted to armor.

I guess we could add in the MLX-P for all the lasers, but it's no Piranha.

What I really want is for the MLX-D to get a hefty, hefty ammo quirk for that UAC. Because I want to use it with a UAC/2 and not be out of ammo 3 minutes in.

How about a speed quirk for the weaponless right torso pods?

Restoring those old offensive quirks from the missile pods would be nice, and/or adding some new offensive quirks to similar arms that aren't the special 4B + 1E monsters.

And yeah, adding more dakka quirks would be pretty amusing. Should be at least a full 100% ammo buff on Class-2 ACs. Being able to remove the head probe would help as well...

I LOVE my MLX. I just wish that my 4xSPL or my LMG build wouldn't lose its RT so quickly. My most effective builds are the 2xMiERLs + 8xLMGs, 4xSPLs, & my 2xMPLs.

The mistake people make is trying to leg them.

Pull the arms off. Easier to hit the arms than anywhere on a Locust. He's disarmed. Problem solved.

Sure. It's totally not the most frustrating mech in the game to play... Posted Image

The mist lynx actually needs armor buffs to the arms. Most mechs with most of their firepower in the arms get durability quirks for a reason. Too easy to disarm otherwise. +5 structure is like nothing. ACH-E has the same issue.

The other issue is that the MLX-G isnt OP...its that the other MLX variants suck. 25 tonner with 2x missiles and 2x energy hardpoints is largely pointless. Really needs massive weapon quirks. Mist lynx was ignored till the G variant came out because they didnt have enough firepower.

Unless you're a try-hard like me. I just love the challenge of being the super-squishy guy running around and trying to fly in with my super jump-jets & crit out systems/weapons. Though sure, a few armor-quirks would be much appreciated.

Light 'mechs aren't worthless. I pilot a spider and use it for spotting, capping, harassing, and (of course) brawling with other lights. These are the values a light 'mech should be limited to. Even though the BT version of the MLX-G is technically "anti-infantry", good luck hitting with all 8 MG's at short range after running or jumping. However, in MWO you're guaranteed to hit with EVERY weapon as you swirl around your opponent at lightning speeds, which is...stupid and imbalanced.

My dad and I had actually talked about this before. For the record: he wrote the (unfortunately) unpublished "Devil's Own" supplemental, took 6th in the BT world championship, and beat Weisman 1v1, so I trust his knowledge on this. Anyway, he put out the idea that instead of singling out 'mechs, PGI should just make MG's do half damage to armor and full damage to internals. This allows for variants to stay viable, as well as give slow heavies and assaults time to seek cover from being harassed. He's also suggested that IS and Clanners should have a chance at salvaging enemy weapons and systems for use in their own 'mechs. E.G. a clan heavy laser drops as a sort of loot cache and can be used in your IS mech. This obviously would come with restrictions.

BTW, it's not my mech in the picture. It's just the stock MLX-G. I'm (implicitly) bound by loyalty to never jump in a clan cockpit.

The MLX has enormous, chunky arms that have 24 total HP. You can cut a typical laser boat alpha in half, one for each arm, and strip it in one cycle.

If one does 800+ damage in a game, your entire team is terrible beyond all comprehension.

What the f*** are you smoking?
