There cant be enough said about how weapons in this game are truly unbalanced. Almost all of them manage to destroy my mech at some point or another and its a glaring sign when almost ANY of them are capable of taking me out. Whether its Clan laser boats or IS laser boats I cant seem to survive once the armor and structure values on my mech are destroyed.

Some of them even have pinpoint damage, like gauss and PPC's (and people can run more than one!). Dont even get me started about LRM's, its almost like some maps favor them over others and even though there is a readily available countermeasure for them in the form of AMS, I cant be expected to put one of those on every mech. Therefore LRM's/ATMs/SRMs all need a nerf.

Dont nerf airstrikes though because those truly add fun to the game for everyone.

In before the sarcasm is missed and someone attempts to seriously respond.

Pft yea right like I would make a thread mocking apoplectic calls for nerfing particular weapon systems that counter my personal play style. Posted Image

Agreed. I feel like flamers are over performing on hot maps, too.

Reflective armor is a thing for both factions though, and the Clan version is naturally half the slot size.

Without our precious advanced clan tech we cant produce such wonders as the Black Python

Posted Image

Look at it. In no way is this a terrible mech design, drawing, nothing of the sort. It is 100% reasonable that this be something a designer submit to the company and the manager saying "My god you've done it again! This looks brilliant! Put it in a TRO right away!"

And thats why we have Clan tech.

That's what happens when you always skip leg day.

Fortunately later depictions of the mech have decided to properly exercise their lower body muscles:

You're absolutely, right, weapons are OP and should be nerfed into oblivion.

We should all just headbutt our mechs into enemies and re-introduce melee, and then rename the game into World Robot Boxing..

..with airstrikes. Cose' they add fun to the game Posted Image

Clearly the game is about airstrikes, I dont get why these add on weapons are necessary in the first place.

Nerf the "right things?" I'm not sure what that really means? Right in terms of what strategic goal? Lore? Game balance foregoing Lore? Balance to achive what? Fairness?

It would be a neat idea if new players had a spreadsheet listing all of the weapons and their starting values and their current values.

How can we have a conversation without emperical data? It seems like asking if a receipt "tastes" right......

Asym wins today's "clueless cookie". It doesn't taste very good, but hey, it's still a cookie.

You raise a good point, I dont like how my inner sphere mechs die to OTHER inner sphere mechs, just like Clan mechs. I thought diversity is what made games like MWO fun, shouldnt I be immune to one type of mech and not immune to the other?

A lot of times I kill a lot of clan mechs in my inner sphere mechs, and I feel cheap for abusing the aim feature combined with strategy. Maybe if PGI would give me some other options besides winning or losing I wouldnt have to use exploits like skill or teamwork. GG PGI.
