I prefer the aesthetic of the Templar, is all. Mostly due to those pauldrons. Sunder is likely to be the better performer.

Sunder will have the advantages of critslots (like way more), hardpoint height, and hardpoints in general (Templar has a lot of homogeneity). Templar would probably have better hitboxes (especially dem shield arms).

I'd give the overall edge to the Sunder.

PGI did not "tune" anything about the Piranha, they just arbitrarily limited the max engine to keep it from completely ****ting on the Locust.

PGI has had a rule that a mech's engine size shouldn't exceed its tonnage * 8.5. For 20 tonners this means that in theory they shouldn't go over 170 rating...but of course the Locust has to for gameplay reasons and the Piranha has to for its stock loadout.

In a way that kinda is tuning because you are adjusting the mech by reducing it's ability to perform to the max should the locust being mauled by it not taken into play. I wish we would have much faster battlemechs and more table-top content but that won't be possible because this game engine is garbage.
