I know PGI have been having a few meetings about it as I know a few people that have been a part of bits/pieces.
Nothing confirmed yet. I get s feeling it'll be 3-4 weeks at least. Hopefully soon ..

I thought the meme was soon™.
I'm aware there's people with back door connections. I've already jested about PGI making backroom deals pandering to the eSpurts teams. But it would be nice if they (PGI) communicated with the larger player base rather than a select few.

No, when it applies to PGI, it's 90 Days, that was Russ's stance that Faction Warfare would launch 90 Days after Open Beta...which we all know took 2 years

PGI are not pandering to eSports Teams.
There are no back door deals being done.
It's no secret either. It is quite simply all the top teams / players from the past 2-3 years gave input into a proposal that was delivered to PGI about ways to improve the MWO side of Mechcon and also other ideas as well surrounding it. Given we've all been to it and will go again, who best to give input than those that attend.
And that's the point. It seeks to improve the experience, environment @ Mechcon for the players, spectators and those watching on mediums like Twitch. Nothing related to MWO balance in the suggestions. Just how to make it better for everyone.
So how that is "pandering" to teams, when it's just people that want to see everything improve/succeed, I don't know.
We (the panel that was formed) have no idea what PGI are going to do with it. All, some, none - no one knows, not even us.

The normal mechcon mech pack where they announce a popular requested mech for pre-order,give out one of their free mechs, which I like because free is always nice, and then do something community or cw related like tell us that fw is a high priority with major changes coming soon.
