Does anyone know if there's a timeline for the art pass of new tech on older mechs? I've been away for a while, and was surprised when I came back that some of what I thought were obvious choices for art pass hadn't been done.
When are PGI going to update their older mechs to show new tech?

they dont seem to be doing anything on that front. since the civil war patch hit i think we have seen 2 retrofits, and both coincided with the release of a new varient for that chassis.

... which is sad considering how nice some of those weapons look. It's not the end of the world, but I cannot imagine that it takes too much time and effort to update the Mechs. After all most Mechs use this modular system of unified weapon visuals fitted to the hardpoints. A UAC/10 looks the same on a Marauder as it does on a Zeus, so isn't it just some adjustment for a perfect fit?

I want PGI to bring some symmetry on a lot of mech hardpoints. :P

I would like a shrinking pass.. so many IS mechs need to be stuck in the dryer and come out smaller again.

ye some mechs need to get smaller, but catapult and nova need to get bigger. Catapult looks like a med now instead of a heavy. As for the art pass some mechs definitely need some touches, the jager especially. Wish they would add those laser tubes back on the raven thoughPosted Image

I don't remember if it was Russ in a stream or in a roadmap, but I thought there was mention of continuing to update older mechs to the civil war tech bits.

Russ definitely mentioned that they would be freed up from the Solaris launch to put people onto other tasks, so I would imagine some of that might be in the works Soon*.

eh.. I wouldn't count on it, since "hey - new mechpack, buy that instead".
their concept of selling us new mechs instead of keeping older ones on par holds everything back.

maybe someone needs a new vision how to sell stuff to people..

someone really should, since a lot of us are a bit tired of "buy new stuff, bin the dust collector mechs that you would love to play instead".

and somebody completely different has to get a coffee now Posted Image

Anyone have a list of what hasn't gotten a pass? I know all the clan/IS heroes chasis from last summer, along with the IIC mechs, all civil war mechs, (didn't the loyalty mechs from this past year also get a pass?)

I do wonder if the Solaris 7 Pack mechs are also getting retro'd. I can't see them releasing the new heroes without the new tech pass. I have not seen anything from Russ on this, Perhaps someone could "tweet" him this Question.. "Are the Solaris 7 pack mechs getting a Retro 3060 techpass?"

May these mechs are getting fixed..

3060 Civil War Weapon geometries are gradually being retrofitted to previous 'Mechs.Below are the following 'Mechs that will be Weapon Retrofitted in May's update:
  • Shadowhawk
  • Battlemaster
  • JagerMech
  • Spider
  • Raven
  • Locust
  • Catapult
  • Hunchback

I wanna see the HBK and Cat k2 and Jag's with rotarys! (just to watch um spin :P)

PGI could easily sell Reinforcement packs for older Mechs to finance the retrofits. Marauder, Warhammer, Riflemen etc. have a number of very interesting variants, which are still missing.

A new Marauder Pack e.g. could include the MAD-9M and the MAD-9S, priced 10$ for those who own the original Marauder-pack, 15$ for those who don't. (Pricing etc. may be adjusted, of course)

This way we could get new variants and PGI could monetize the retrofits, win-win imo.

I said this exact same thing back in October.. even made a thread about it, but it got no traction :(
