Well from the preview video she's got the sexiest paint job in the game, just finishing patching to try out the new mechs myself.

well, got a SNPPC, 2xASRM6 and 4xMG to test on mine...so I'm hoping for "fun" if nothing else

Having serious issues dealing with the torso twist, its huge. You can almost torso twist 165 degree with the arm reach counted in. It takes a long time to center legs to torso. It's practically a 55 ton urban mech. It has decent hit boxes so far.

It's camo skin is one of the best so far. Kudos to the art team!

I took it out with a build somewhat derivative of the Cent or Wolverine. UAC10, 2xERML, 2xSRM4, 300XL... It works, Griffin agility with that weapons load is a wonderful thing.

Erm, the Wolverines have a LOT higher base agility than the Griffins.

Smurfy lists the Griffin with better torso twist than the Wolverine. Most of the Wolverines have slightly better arm movement to compensate, but on a mech where most models have the majority of their firepower in the torso missile hardpoints, that's questionable compensation. (The 6K and Quarantine can capitalize on it, but the 6R has just abysmal articulation stats.)

Smurfy seems to list rates of traverse without factoring in engine de-sync, so I'll have to fire up the client to double check that. Gimme a few.

And after a double check in the client, it seems the Wolverine does indeed win the nimbleness contest. I have to admit to being surprised by this. And yet, I don't see a lot of Wolverines around, and do see a fair number of Griffins. (Granted, most of those are the ECM capable 2N and the new Loyalty Griffin.) I'm probably going to have to chalk this up to slightly better hardpoints and their placement (as well, of course, to having an ECM variant).

stealing it

I haven't seriously tried mine yet TBH, I kinda just stare at its paintjob in the mech lab..then go play something else...then stare at it again....then go play something else.

MPLs & ASRM6s for mine, as per every other Griffin I own. Then 4 LMGs for maximum LULZ.

You should try double MPL, 2 ASRM6 and 4 HMGs.
You are the most terrifying facehugger in the world with it.
Well, maybe not entirely but you get what I mean.
The HMGs in particular can be ******* nasty when you get up close and personal.
Like, softening them up with MPLs and a few SRMs just to go for the kills with HMGs and the entire rest of your arsenal.
Downside is that HMGs are always running low on ammo, so you can probably build it with normal MGs and more heatsinks too.

Yeah, I've found 0.5 tons of ammo per LMG or MG is fine, but HMGs really need 1 ton each. So on top of being heavier, they also require more ammo, which isn't great for them.

Played a few games with 2x LL 2x ASRM6 and 4x LMG. It's decent, but as others have noted the need to run an XL coupled with mediocre twist make it (in my eyes) worse than your average bushwacker. Gotta take advantage of those JJs to get the best mileage.

The paint job is rad though and the Griffin remains one of my favourite mechs.

mine runs with murms, and it runs like a charm. a really, really nice addition to the "in use" hangar, imo :)
