Wow! that seems like a great idea. invest some time in the game and work hard and try to play well. then you get a free mech! SWEET! on the surface it does.
Then the dark side of PGI's lack of for thought happens. Large organized units march the fields destroying most chances of getting a match score of 250. poorly organized pugs just trying really hard to get their free mech only to be slapped down by brutal rolls by afore mentioned units. Why are they facing pugs anyway? Why is it a FW warfare event that basically rewards large units for being..well large units? it's like a large slap in the face to all the non unit players trying to get by in this FW ruse of a game of units jumping allegiance to chase the largest cash cow and best meta. thus bringing frustration to your non-unit and small unit players. On top of that most casual players will not see that free mech or bay. They just can't invest the time to try and win 15 250 matches. Saw a post earlier where a person did 66 matched to win his mech. 66 MATCHES! for those of us who have a life and can't glue our behinds to our sits to win this free mech, screw us I guess.
I submit that you (PGI) have failed yet again. Aw you fail to know your player base to the point that you have begun to reward bad play practices, punish the casual player and those that are not part of a large unit. Maybe you (PGI) should step up and look at the results of your ill planned and poorly implemented ideas of an event that does nothing but add frustration to the game for several different groups that play your game.
But I guess this all is rather mote and will be seen as a get good try harder rant and you will most likely ignore it. OH btw I started this game in open beta and have played loyally for years. Never receiving a founders tag or anything. But I did get some rare loot. Like Invidia dawn and a pair of razor dice from buying hardware just so I could play your broken game. Then you just ******* give it away like candy on Halloween. Can you do anymore to offend a long time player of your game? I don't know, but I am sure as hell sure you will knowingly or unknowingly try. I am guessing though if I threw money at your game (which I can't afford) you would have given a crap about what I thought. as it only seems you are worried about keeping the cash flowing in for a game (MW5) that you blew all the start up money for and never got off the ground.Well Have fun and I am going back to bang my head on my desk while I watch all the major units go I.S. so they can win something or accomplish something, but never actually carry the heart and soul of this game as all it is to them is free loot event time.

Play scouting, and slap on as many streaks as you can. 250 match score can be done that way, especially if the other side uses streaks too. There is even a thread about how to get 250 scores. https://mwomercs.com...50-match-score/
Founders tags were given to people who had crowdfunded MWO, back when it was a concept.

Thank you for your reply. As i stated in my post. I am not a well founded person who has loyally played for years. Even though I could not pay to get those tags or any tags, I got those items from spending what I could to play the game. It did have some high specs for a poor guy in those days. So to me those items are sort of my founders tags. I was here in the beginning when those special rewards where given. They show my loyalty to this game. Now they mean nothing.

In general, I applaud events that bring an actual challenge.
As a (very) rough guideline, I'd be okay if 25% of the rewards in an event were difficult to get, and if the top 5% was VERY difficult to manage. The small stuff, the 75%, should be some work to get, but no tooth grinding required.
That said, even the top reward should be achievable with diligence and some skill, perhaps with a little luck thrown in.
This event almost qualifies.
As the OP suggests, for the large majority of people, that top reward simply is not feasible under the current circumstances.
When I saw the 250 in FW to qualify for the last (mech) reward, I felt that there was simply no way I would get that. As a member of a small unit, I get roflstomped in pug groups in invasion (the TS channels I know of have all been dead of late), and even on very good wins for scouting, 250 is unlikely. It can be done, usually by a sandblasting missile mech that gets the kills as well, I saw a person who did 400 some odd damage with 3 kills and 1 assist get 276 the other night, but that is the rare exception, rather than just a decent but uncommon result.

I already got my clan mech. Working on the Atlas now. I mean, I got my 250 against 12 man of MS several times. And no, I'm not part of a giant unit or anything. At most we have 6 folks dropping. Check your drop deck, standard advice follows. Also, we are recruiting if anyone is looking for a unit.

Plot Twist: The free 'mechs on offer aren't even good ones.

As long as you don't go full on potato mode, you should be able to score 250 easily. Play smart, stay alive, think paintball instead of giant robots. Remove all the lurms from your mechs, then sell them to prevent you from making any bad decisions about bringing them. Everyone in our group already got the Gyr, and now we're working the IS side for a shiny new DDC, and we field six or less. But like Soulos said, we're looking for new folks with good attitudes that can put up with me singing like Barney drop after drop.

Being a full up Super Spud Potato, it took 68 matches in Scouting... Streak Huntsman... No team because they steal points; dropped alone much more efficient.
Got the mech and sold it immediately.... I bought the Gyr's in Feb of this year.
Can be done. Scouting is much more efficient. Premade teams are farming scouting so it could take a while. As said above, they are farming with alternative accounts as well so it will take a while longer till they "get what they want" and leave...

Can't really speak for the Atlas since I only own one, but it's not worth grinding for the Night Gyr.

I’ve read many posts here where players complain that the events are either too easy or the rewards too low. The current event has different tiers of rewards so less experienced players can get stuff, while more experienced players have a bit more of a challenge to get the big swag.
I think the event is just fine and that PGI should continue to have events with multiple reward tiers/requirements.
Good hunting,
CFC Conky

60 matches was an extreme case from the player hellbent on not doing the right thing.
To get 15x250 matchscore you need to do 15 invasions if you lucky and 20 if you extremely unlucky and got under a premade stomp several times.
