I need a new mouse, and i do like corsair products i've used in the past. It seams like a simple design, which i like. Many of the gaming mice i see have just to many buttons in weird places. Having used a normal 3 button mouse for as long as i can remember. (basically a original mouse with a wheel added i am hesitant to go with one of those funky new ones) Keyboards are another thing i am so set in my ways with.. (over 15 years with this one lol)

at anyrate, anyone use this mouse? Or have something similar in size/button placement? I basically would like something with the normal 3 buttons, but two more in your thumb location. (right handed mouse) some also have macro and built in mouse speed switches, which is something i think might be good. It seams to have the DPS switching, not sure about the macro but honestly that is more of a bonus thing i could use in other games.. (like an auto-clicker for example)

I play with a Logitech G300S. Ambidexterous. Traditional 3 buttons. Has 2x2 top button next to the Main Left and Right buttons. Has on-board memory and is programable...

Inexpentive, adjustable sensitivity and completely configurable. $US 24.00 on Amazon. I really like it.

Get yourself a Scimitar man! Go hard or go home. I can map ALL my weapon groups with this mouse, as well as programmed macros, AND three buttons for consumables + the one I use for VOIP activation.

I use a Mad Catz R.A.T. Pro X:

Posted Image
Comes with 3 different sensors to choose from (only need to buy one), fully customizable to your liking (comes with extra parts to mix and match, tool included), downloadable profile software to program buttons/macros/dpi/other advanced mouse settings, magnesium alloy chassis (quick, light, will take abuse without damage).

As much as i would highly recommend it, it's going to run you a pretty penny. (Roughly $270 with the cheap PixArt sensor, $300+ with the Phillips which i have)

If you're willing to go up to $100, SteelSeries Rival 700 is similar to the Corsair.

Play with this :

http://www.ttesports...spx?p=217&g=ftr

it's great quality at good price, the mice has 3 standard buttons+scroll, plus 2 buttons on the left side (which I use for arm lock and zoom).

You can program your keyboard backlight in the full rbg spectrum or set it to changing color, and match the same color to your mouse, and can also set some keyboard macros (I don't use these for MWO) and adjust how strong the backlight is for the keyboard.

The mouse is crisp and sharp, and looks amazing for my taste.

Both mouse and keyboard come with instructions, and a link to download the setup app from their site.

Well i don't mind spending a few bucks, But at the same time i could save some money and grab some extra MC, or another game off steam

Found this combo, it's cooler master which makes good stuff, and has a mail in rebate.. mouse combo/key board comes to 10 bucks lol. (its normally a 30 dollar combo) I need an extra keyboard for my other comp, so i'm just gonna grab it. But still gonna get decent mouse too.

Mice are a very personal choice. For myself, for MWO I won't use a mouse that doesn't have a thumb button and I want that thumb button to be located toward the bottom of the mouse because it allows me to actuate the button while maintaining a fire grip on my mouse, without having to re-position my hand. Basically I want the thumb button to be located right under where I would rest my thumb when I grip my mouse. Then if I can find one that has an additional 1-2 buttons that I can easily access with the thumb, that is a luxury. I also hold my mouse in an odd grip where I rest to the bottom half of my palm on the mat which makes many mice too large in my hand thus pulling my thumb out of position to actually actuate the thumb buttons. Needless to say, I have an extremely hard time finding one that fits my hand.

What this illustrates is that there is no way I can give you any specific advice about which mouse to buy because mice, more than anything else, are about how they feel to you. Unfortunately there isn't a shop around where you can demo all the top of the line gaming mice so often as not, whatever you buy will suck.

I've been using Logitech gaming mice and have enjoyed them.

I've been using the G502 for almost a year now after wearing out the buttons on my previous Logitech mouse:

There is probably a newer model out.

I'm not sure if you consider any mouse with more than 3 buttons to be too many.
Personally, I find Logitech mice to have the right amount of buttons... not as many as the Razor Naga, but more than your average 3 button mouse.

Questions to ask is what type of user/gripper are you? Claw, Tip/FIngertip or Palm? This is just as important because if the mouse is not comfortable, too small, too short, etc you will not be happy.

Suggest going to a brick and mortar store and check out their mice first, how it feels, how you would use it (Claw, Tip, Palm) then get dimensions. I have purchased mice that I ended up giving to my nephew and niece because I could never get comfortable with how I would hold it.

Just FYI I am a Claw-type. Logitech G500. Other mice have been either not long enough or not tall enough. I have paws :)

I went through a ton of different mice before settling on an old 5-button Microsoft Intellimouse 1.1 as my dedicated MWO mouse. My biggest issue with what would otherwise be great gaming mice is that for MWO, I find it more useful to have a soft middle button than a stiff, clicky wheel for weapon group 3. It's also lightweight, requires no drivers, and ambidextrous.

Logitech g502 proteus spectrum. Programable sensitivity setting, and you can flip through setting on the fly, either between profiles or between diff preset levels of sensitivity.

I ended up replacing my Logitech G500 with this instead.

Mouse 4 & 5 on the side, 5 preset DPI settings, lights for the scroll wheel, DPI setting (Red/White/Green/Yellow/Blue, low to high) & Corsair logo. All 8 buttons can be remapped.

Have made very very bad experiences with Corsair, Logitech and Razer in the last few years, don't waste your money on Logitech or the other high prize and low stability stuff out there. Most of 'em just live of their names.

I got this little guy for the last few years and can't detect any decay or performance reduction so far (also it is actually pretty cheap)

whereas I've never had any trouble with Logitech or Corsair stuff, so YMMV.

Any other trackball users out there? I use a logitech M570, been using trackballs for years and appreciate that you can use them anywhere. It can be a problem if you need more than three weapon groups, but I don't typically use that many anyway.
