I dunno, the dual HGauss Victor seems stronk. If HGauss were to be buffed, I would say that Victor should probably get nerfs.

Eh...disagree. Not when there are brawl Mad Cats ripping out 80 points. Eat that single Gauss volley and then it's lights out for the Victor.

I ran a build today with 2x Light Gauss and 2x ER Large. Probably the best average Light Gauss build. It didn't kill anything despite non-stop firing while out-ranging other mechs. I did however annoy the enemy team so much they usually rushed me and in a few seconds the Light Gauss exploded. There was no advantage to the Light Gauss over a single Gauss and the better build would have been 2x regular Gauss plus lasers.

So, operationally, the Light Gauss should not explode easily, maybe at the end after a lot of hits. They should do at least 9 damage. You should be able to use three of them or mixed with PPCs. Make them 11 tons. They just don't create an advantage in a Mech Sim like they do in PnP.

At any rate Light Gauss should not inherit all the nerfs applied to the regular Gauss for all the OP balancing crapola. After all the charge-up Gauss nerf is not part of BattleTech, but is an apocryphal nerf addition that has no validity to be applied to every Gauss weapon. So in the case of the Light Gauss remove the charge-up or boost the damage to make the Light Gauss a weapon that deserves the apocryphal charge-up. The charge-up is just not called for for a weapon that only does 8 damage.

So that is what is really wrong. You could just as easily run 2xAC2's for the same weight, 4 less criticals, higher DPS, no charge-up, pair with PPCs, and AC2's do not EXPLODE!!!.

So get rid of the charge-up, which is not a BattleTech balancing element, or make the Light Gauss a good deal more powerful than it is in BattleTech. Since the charge-up is already an abandonment of BattleTech's balancing for the weapon. The current state of MWO's apocryphal Gauss multi-nerfs plus BattleTech canon Light Gauss stats is not balanced. Not functional. Fix by December patch please.

Outrageously overpowered clan mechs should not be an excuse to allow one IS mech to be better than all of the others. Besides, I didn't think the MCII was a very popular brawler - seems to me it's good for gaussvomit and nothing else. Maybe dakka.

Anyways, that's provided the Victor is one of the best IS mechs right now, which I'm not sure it is. But it seems stronk.

It actually is, provided that one IS 'Mech is not more outrageous than that Clan 'Mech. But that's a different topic.

MCII will likely be a popular side-by-side with the Cyclops on brawl maps. I am not sure the MCII in general is one of those "always dupe" 'Mechs the way the KDK-3 was, but it's certainly up there.

It's all relative. I think the VTR-9S is actually more useful than the 9A1, but the 9A1 might eclipse it if it shared the ST armor buffs the rest of the variants have. As-is, it's mostly just a better Boomhammer of sorts.
