Any suggestion for picking a few that are easy/fun to use, and able to complete as good as (if not better than) the C-Bills variants? Suggestion is appreciated.

Of those I own.

Jester - It is one of my absolute favorite mechs.
Bounty Hunter - Fantastic Marauder Variant, easily the best of the bunch in my opinion.
Pirate's Bane - Amazing if you like the playstyle.
Highroller - Excellent BSW variant (might be too new to be on sale)
Scorch - Marauder IIC - enough said
Boiler - Probably the best Super Nova Variant.

You can also pick up a few of the Clan Omni Heroes for the unique omnipods.

Anyone compile a list of the sale mechs yet? Some of us are stuck at work and want to theorycraft. :)

Recently find riding something agile is more fun than driving a truck is more fun, looking for medium or some agile heavies (can go pass 80kph after speed tweaks), and preferably can do well in some close range action where situation calls for it....

This.

Offhand, and assuming they're included in the list that is on sale, I'd go with a Pirates Bane (Locust), the Ebon Jaguar (for the torso omnipod allowing you TWO over-the-shoulder ballistic torsos), and the Ghillie (Enforcer).

I will update this post with builds later, but:

MAD-BH2:
Hardpoints of 7x E and 1x B with jump jets gives you a lot of options. The Medium laser range quirks also work on ER Mediums to give you a maximum of 468 meters possible before targeting computers. 4x LL and 3x ERML and a STD 300 with 19x DHS is Assault-grade laser vomit (and speed, kek). It spreads damage like a boss from the front. Honestly, right now, it feels only a rung below the MAD-IIC, which is exactly where it ought to be as a 75 tonner vs. 85. You can also do a 20-class AC of your choice with 7x MedLas and JJs, or Gauss + ERMedLas, or an AC/20 with two Snubs, etc. I think it is easily in the running for most powerful IS Heavy, possibly most powerful heavy in the game. It is *strong*.

BJ-A:
My baby since 2014! A one-trick pony with 6x MG of some flavor, but a very entertaining one. A pair if MedPulse with a single Large Pulse and six MG and, now, LMG for dat DPS has been very profitable for me. I have more drops in this 'Mech than any other, I like it so much.

I'm looking at the in-game store, and it's looking like ALL the heros are on sale.

Unfortunately I have most the heroes that interest me. I'd say choose a hero mech in the weight class you play the most be take a very good look at the number of hard points, where they are, and what types of hard points. The huggin was great because it had god tier quirks until nerfed. It was massively dependent on quirks as are many hero mechs.

Ignore any quirks you see because they will be nerf/buffed by pgi at a whim. I mostly play the lights so have a nice collection of ember, huggin, oxide, katana kat, and urbie k9. The spider hero is crap with identical hard points to a normal panther.

Having both of those, I can agree with the Pirate's Bane, the Highroller how ever is my least favorite Bushwacker....

If you are running CW Conquest mode, PB is vital.

Can anyone actually say anything good about roughneck hero?

-25% jam chance
-15% ballistic cooldown
armor and structure quirks

it looks pretty good on paper but i feel like theres a catch.

Excellent high energy mounts, tanky, just paint it yellow and hunt aliens...

Edit: ballastic mounts are in the arms and they aren't very high. Still it's a good mech, I think it's a bit underrated and frowned on for being pgi made.

Good and easy to use?

Roughneck hero or Linebacker hero.

Both have good hardpoint locations on top of generous durability. 65t is a favorable tonnage, being convenient for building drop decks and not a massive penalty in group drops.

You can build the Roughneck as a flat-ground brawler with RAC5s, UACs or LBX pared with some backup lasers, or forgo the ballistics and use the shoulder-height energy to hill hump. Lots of versatility in how the mech can play for a battlemech.

Red Line has limited tonnage, but it's fast and can be built around SRMs or groups of small/medium lasers either alone, or paired with an autocannon- which are straight forward playstyles. Twin ERPPCs is also natural to it, and take advantage of the high torso hardpoints, making it a good sniper.

Daam, I could get Scorch for the 7 dollar MC pack if I wouldn't be 100 MC short.

How often are heroes on sale, I think only few times a year ?

Safe bet for next sale would be Christmas, it can happen earlier, though (in that occasion most likely not all hero mech, though).
