I was wondering if anyone was even close to the 1000 needed for the title?
If so... how many do you have?

I think 2..
I tried at one point, but gave up around 450
The cSPL nerf really killed that method

The new skill tree with the survivability skills has REALLY curtailed the crap out of headshots.
Sure, I can still hit the goddamned cockpit with my gauss, and it'll turn red, but there's no guarantee the follow up ERLLs will even register at all now, and even if they do the extra armor/structure means the burn has to be that much longer.
You basically have to run into that rare individual who has unloaded armor from his cockpit, or, stored something 'splosive in it.

I always store ammo in my cockpit, it makes me feel dangerous.

as for absurd cheevos, all around helper. which rewards a whopping 5000gxp. and by the time you make it you will have 1 million unused gxp on the books.

He did his in 3 month with small lasers on powered down mechs,
It took me almost 1.5 years where i actually focused and tryed to get them with double gauss long range headshots.
I tryed a few times with flamer and spl nova. This was increadibly easy, sometimes i got 3 headshots in a single game. i stopped after about 30 headshots coz it felt like cheating. I got more headshots in that few days than i ever expected i could get.
Gangben and i both both have videos on youtube, just look for em.

I think they do count in FW now, though...
they count since the end of 2015/ beginning of 2016 i think. thats at least where i realized that after a fw game my count increased and was also the starting point of really going for them.

Personally I'm nowhere near the 1k count. The fact that I only bother aiming at cockpits on shutdown mechs won't help me anytime soon.

Second, every time I find myself trying for head shots, I end up playing normally in the end. Perhaps I need to focus more!

In the TT they are quite rare and mostly hilarious when it happens. In my games it was always freak accidents. Like a Spider jumping into undisclosed terrain in heavy woods, meets the Hunchback in hidden deployment, who of course rolls for a cockpit hit with his AC20. Good times. Not for the Spider, though!
