I have a computer with the specs listed below. I am not sure why, but when I enter the game, and sign in, it does about 1 FPS. On other games it works fine, but when I go into task manager, it shows that the game is using 100% GPU for the game, but 0% total usage. I don't know why. Please help!!

CPU: Ryzen 5 1400
Ram: Corsair RGB 2x8
GPU: GTX 1060 6GB Strix
SSD: 250GB

Go into nvidia control panel and make sure MWO is set to use your GPU and its set to maximum performance. And monitor the GPU usage via gpu-z.

Didn't work. I am not sure if this helps, but my GPU fans aren't even running.

Use GPU-Z to check that the GPU is being used. The GPU fans not being on means that either the fans are broken or the GPU isnt even being used. The latter is much more likely and is usually solved by making sure nvidia control panel is set to use your GPU instead of the integrated card.

It says that the GPU load is 0%. How would I change it to make sure that it is not using integrated graphics? In Nvidia control panel it doesn't show an option for that.

Make sure "preferred graphics processor" is set to use your GPU.

Where? In Nvidia Control Panel?

I don't see the option where it should be.

Post a screenshot of what your nvidia control panel looks like.

FWIW, Ryzen 5 1400 does not have integrated graphics nor have the mainboards which it be can run on. Some boards may have display outputs, but the necessary circuitry is only in AMDs A-Series APUs and in the upcoming Raven Ridge-APUs.

The game isn't optimised.
You won't get it to use 100% of your GPU even on max, yet the game will struggle to maintain 60 frames on high end or second tier rigs that can handle Witcher3.

Don't bother dude...you gotta live with it till they change engines/programmers.

The need to invest some time into working with Nvidia.

Read the thread...his problem is that the game isnt even using his GPU.

This has been discussed many times over. The game is CPU intensive, which is why I findi it funny that the opening screen shows Nvidia, but you will get better performance using something like a AMD hex-core processor.

Unless there are some serious GPU tweaks one can do to squeeze out better performance, it's mostly CPU derived.

My 1060 work fine and the fan doesn't spin when playing MWO because probably it's not hard enough to make it hot.

My cpu is just a core II Q9650, and it's all fine.

Dude....he literally said that his GPU usage was at 0%. That means MWO isnt even using his GPU. This is a technical issue with his computer, it has nothing to do with MWO optimization.

  • Open the Nvidia Control Panel. ...
  • Select Manage 3D Settings under 3D Settings.
  • Click on the Program Settings tab and select the program you want to choose a graphics card for from the drop down list.

Whatever is measuring GPU usage isn't working properly.

Since Ryzen CPUs don't have built-in graphics, if he is getting video from anything then his GPU is getting used. That includes MWO.

I would say first, reinstall GPU drivers, possibly motherboard drivers.

System, Power Options, set to High Performance.

But as mentioned, something is not being read correctly, or the OP may be reading some wrong.

Question, what are you using to read your FPS? The in game FPS, activated with F9 or a 3rd party program? And are you playing in Full Screen mode? If so, switched to Full Windowed mode, same issue?
