What the hell. I mean seriously, what the hell? I've been slowly grinding my way through the Ruebellite Oasis challenge and I like the map, like it a lot actually. So hey, good work. But here's the thing, I need one match on the map, one match win or lose to finish so I think to myself, I'll just log on before I have to visit the relatives for Thanksgiving and try to finish it off. Shouldn't take lone, right?

Wrong, dead wrong. I played about 12 matches and Oasis only came up 3 time for voting. 3 times. In other words it was only even an option in 25% of matches, and of course the teams voted it down each time. Now that I know can't be controlled, it just depends on the players (though honestly during an event that has to be played on a certain map you've just being a jerk to those working on the event by down voting it) but why the hell is it only coming up so rarely? In something like this it should be on a heavier rotation, if not an option every match just to make sure the players can actually, you know, play the map.

I remember something similar when Escort mode first came out, but it honestly just boggles the mind.

Keep voting for it and eventually your multiplier will make sure it gets picked.

To be fair, the length of the event was 16 days but yeah it sucks when you have to take random map selection into account.

How many more RNG events will it take before they realize it's a bad idea?

Stay tuned next week!

They gave you 16 days to play the map 10 times. The 5 wins falls neatly under a 50% win rate from there.

Sure, it's technically RNG. But it's RNG that's heavily in your favor if you play the game on anything more than an ultra-casual "once a week" basis.

I'm just against RNG events regardless of duration. Didn't even participate in this one (because i'd rather play other stuff and the prizes aren't an incentive).

Plus life happens, so you can't expect everyone to be able to hop on for 16 days. But for the time people are able to and map voting gives you the middle finger, it does get frustrating.

For the record, I finished the event in less than four hours.

I couldn't play nearly as much as I wanted so it took me two whole days.

Literally unplayable.

I stopped voting for this map. Somehow I don't really like it.

It is entirely possible to play it enough times, if you only play two hours/day, in two to three days. And they gave you sixteen. What is the issue?

Seems like we just can't get anything right for new players... Then, we moan that we don't have an expanding player base and PGI provides yet another event that frustrates new or potato level (like me) players.

PGI could inplement a "event multiplier (9x)" for players who have not finished an event (for whatever reason) that would improve the odds at whatever map the event requires. What difference would this make to older players anyway???

It would improve morale with the newer crowd and maybe, help retention.

You get more than two weeks to play one map, 10 times (given an average 50/50 W/L) for 5 wins.

If you can't pull that off, the daily challenges must REALLY drive you mad.

What drives me mad, as I pointed out, is the map hardly even coming up for a vote at all. I know there's plenty of time to finish but that just seems really stupid to me.

They haven't changed the rate of Oasis popping since the last patch.

I got 10 games (and 6 wins) inside five hours of play, total. If you're not seeing Oasis with a nicely hoarded map multiplier, it's really bad luck on your end.

Waitingtimes ...stomps...less Points...objective rushs ...no chance without Invasion mode with Invasion Mode =min 20 Machts x30 Minutes +Waiting Times

Which is fine, because in 32 hours (16 days x 2 hours a day) you surely would be able to play Rubelite Oasis 10+ times and win at least 5 times. And if you chose not to play enough (again, it was only like 4 hours for me, personally) then that's your choice. But it's not an absurd or unreachable goal by any stretch of the imagination.

And here's another case why map voting should be removed.

You can't expect everyone to be able to hop on for 16 days, true. Similarly PGI can't expect everyone to qualify for event rewards. It's not a participation trophy where everyone gets a prize. You have to put in time/effort to get it and if you don't have the time, you don't get it, plain and simple.

The Rubellite event is 2 weeks. The Battle for Tharkad event was 1 week with even more stringent requirements, but with a bigger reward, yet players are also complaining about it. But again, it's not a participation trophy, players have to spend time/effort on it, and be rewarded for the time/effort spent.
