Howdy,

As far as I know, I shouldn't be able to detect an ECM wielding enemy at 400m. No tag, no NARC, no cancellation due to PPC. That mech should not come up on my sensors.

Is that correct? I seem to see these "faulty" ECM mechs fairly often.

Those players forgot to purchase their Enhanced ECM skill nodes.

Quote

Base Range of Detection Scrambling reduced to 30% (from 75%).
The remaining 45% is now unlocked through the Skill Tree (22.5% per Node).

Always spend the 13points in Sensors if you have an ECM equipped.

Even without theses ECM nodes, you retain the higher missile lock time and counter mode you get from ECM. A bit of a bonus, but hardly worth it if you consider all the drawbacks you have to pay for ECM (less Quirks, tonnage, slots, hardpoints)

Thanks! I'll stop being distracted by the working-as-intended "bug".

Also keep in mind, if someone else just detects him from a reasonable distance... you probably wouldn't... BUT...
If someone else counters him, you will from as far as 6 kilometers (kinda the high end limit of map sizes at the moment).

An active probe of sorts, NARC, TAG, UAV, or even hitting one with a PPC will generate some sort of counter. Some are soft, some are hard.

Soft counters let them be detected, lockable, etc. but the 25% reduction to your lock time and the reduction to info gathering still applies due to ECM still being active.

Hard counters let you detect them, but also stop the 25% reduction to your lock time and the delay to getting his health and weapon info.
