My hope is that Mechwarrior 5 is a hit, does all the things PGI has said it will do, and provide enough revenue and interest in the game that PGI then comes back and ports this to a new engine that can actually handle things like destroying buildings, melee, death from above, knockdowns, etc.

I wont place any hope in MW5 until it is released in reality MW5 even with PVE missions will fail unless PGI has learned from MWO what went wrong and why they lost over 500,000 players after close beta.

One of the games I personally have played and funded as a subscriber from day 1 of its creation is Star Wars( Knights of the old republic) you ask why after all these years and EA BLUNDERS do i still play and fund it because its fun every time I play the game the story lines and missions never get old the PVP is fun and Star fighters is a total blast.

But it has what MWO lacked a true character system with playable missions and ground battles set in the BT universe along with Mech PVP/PVE/Coop missions MWO has the Potential to still be a game of the year but it would need new perspective and insight from the devs and a commitment to attain those goals.

And if they rebuilt MWO from the ground up to include these things and a Huge Social lobby system like we had in MW4 like the old MSN gaming zone for private play fix FP and a few balance issues I would fund it and become a subscriber after it was done.

I cant say i trust PGI anymore to fund a new MWO before it actually was done.

If I ever get a better pc I'll definitely play BattleTech and MWLL. Not sure if I'd stick around in MWO though...
